We’re a .500 team,,in the 7th spot, ahead of OKC and only a half game behind the Warriors. Enjoy it while it lasts.

We're competing...learning...growing. Great to root for not expecting a win but seeing them just work. Erasing a double digit deficit then clamping down defensively. Those miscommunications on switches were grating but I can live with it if the effort is there. Kids being kids...

All I know is that Ball is super legit. Rubio as the floor. Better rebounder and equal defender. On a winning team that’s a star.

Soooo many mistakes...but then you gotta quickly remind yourself that we're the 3rd youngest team in the association.

Then you see how our kids react to the mistakes by quickly making up for them, instead of bowing their heads in self-pity....and I'm just really proud of our guys tonight.

Especially cause the way the Wiz were making it sound like we were about to hit a buzzsaw. Even with an OT they couldn't break 100. Even with all the hype behind Lavar gassing up Wall, that dude had a -14 net production for the game (worst in the game for both teams). Zo's teammates had his back...loved it!

What makes it special is we could have been happy being down 10 and closing the game that way since we hung in with a really good team with all-star players and added motivation (via Lavar), but we weren't satisfied with that. For every mistake we made down the stretch, I thought, okay it was a good enough effort, but that just might do us in...then the team makes up for that mistake and keeps pushing for the W. This is what we've all been waiting for. Just keep fighting and stay competitive...win or lose, the fans will appreciate the effort.

Jackson made a comment of how the Wizards played down to the level of competition by not blowing us out BUT I thought we made them work and kept at it. Mistakes will happen with our inexperience but it is an immeasurable learning component. We were relentless dogs out there.

Yeah, we really had no business winning that game down 10 late with Wall and Beal playing well, but our team so far this season aside from the bad opener has not quit. Our guys allowed some bad layups late, but they also had some absolute lock down defense plays, and that was great to see. I liked that Luke stuck with the lineup that was working this game, last game he kinda messed that up. KCP was missing a lot, but JC was having a bad game, and KCP’s defense was needed, glad he stuck with him.

Ugh, glad I didn’t have to listen to the ESPN announcers. No excuses for the Wizards, they talked smack and they didn’t back it up, and this is the sort of thing they do, and have done for a few years now with their roster. We just beat them, if Wall, for example, could have taken over more, he should have then, but our D had something to do with that.

Pope taking on both Wall and Beal on every possession whichever one he switched on. Ingram was also disciplined. I thought we contested every shot except on plays where we let them drive the lanes with no rotations.

I needed that W badly after suffering through the Dodgers losing in extra innings. Couldn't have two LA teams losing in overtime games tonight!

Anyway, that was a fun win and thankfully Luke stuck with the hot hands this time down the stretch. Maybe he's learning too?

Walton is learning...he's had assistant stints but nothing like being the lead especially with a high profile franchise. I thought that small ball line-up with Kuzma at the 5 was a near disaster.

He had a lot seemingly random lineups out there tonight IMO. But this time at least he went with the guys who made the comeback at the end unlike last time when he went away from it to the starters and lost the game.

    What a fun game.

There's going to be growing pains but that is to be expected. What I really liked was that we didn't give up.

So much for Gortat's big mouth, ha.

Learning the game@ .500 is better than learning at .250 any day!

HUGE experience fighting it out with one of only 3 undefeated teams, a playoff team who called them out, reputations on the line - in overtime to boot!

This is worth more than a month of struggling like we did in December last year, these games are priceless experiences. Gut-it-out games with wins will get us there faster than anything.

Our rookie is being said by the media to have had a bad game but the guy almost has a triple double and is almost averaging it?

Zo's % is off but it's due to his finishing and outside shots. His mid range is good which is the area most have issues, just needs to work on the other aspects and he'll be fine. In the meantime, 9/9 boards and dimes ain't bad.

some kid's stats so far, fierce competition at PF:

    Nance Jr 13/7.8/0.8blkpg .622FG 22.5 mins
    Randle 9.8/4.5/1.5blkpg .640 18.5 mins
    Kuzma 14.5/4.0/1.3apg .525 28.8 min

    Ingram 15.8/4.8/3.0 .426

    Ball 11.5/9.0/9.0 .316

Good fight by the boys. Things should only improve for this team from a playing perspective as they get used to each other and to acclimate to the NBA.

We might then see some fatigue later in the season but right now they should be all out. We are young, athletic and eager to play.
