odd place for this chatter, but from that clip, it seemed like lamelo a) knew that guy and b) never dunks. that looks like a dunk i would have had in hs (barely sneaking over rim), and had i done it over my friend and he fell down after...yeah, i'd mess with him.

anyway, the problem with lamelo is that he's not that great at basketball.

Eh, the Lakers were hot garbage in last years preseason too, with Randle looking like he took a step back, and then we went on a crazy little run for 10 games, then crashed back down with injuries.

Still a work in progress, but this team needs a little bit more time together before we start competing with teams who already have set rosters.

Ah, no. We did not look like this last year in preseason. I watched all the games. This year's preseason looks even worse than the infamous Potato Head preseason where we went an astounding 0-8 with virtually all 8 games being blow outs.

Considering our starting 5 is completely new outside of Randle and Ingram, trying to integrate a more pass oriented, uptempo offense is going to do that. Chemistry is obviously lacking with no one knowing where each other are.

Not to mention, the lack of shooting is creating a lack of space which is killing the passing.

Defensively, we still need a lot of work, but I'd also like to see Lopez at anchor instead of Zu or Nance, neither of which are capable.

A lot of people had the same pessimism after the first two Summer League games, and look how that turned it once they had some actual game time with each other and Zo had shooters to work with.

I know this is the optimism thread but we all have to really look at the reality of what may be on its way. It looks likely that this season is going to be a bomb. Lakers at least have 2 studs in the making so at least that's going well. Everyone else, not really looking forward to seeing too much unless there is a specific focus they go after. Like if BI just plays great D or if Randle can just focus on getting rebounds. These are all things Luke needs to focus on. Who's worth what. And stop trying to put square pegs into the holes of a cheese grater.

When you have both Brook Lopez and Andrew Bogut out and fail to take that impact into account it's going to look bad. No need to declare the Apocalypse though. Guys like Plumlee are beating us up inside FFS. Our D has been guiding players inside. Zu, Bryant and Nance haven't been doing it. There are so many areas that will improve besides that alone. I look at it as, we are green as a group and it's going to come together. Just wait until Deng gets his legs :p Seriously though, closing up that open lane to the hoop will make a big difference. We were terrible there last year, the worst.

That's not what this thread is for though. This is a place for optimism. No need to hold back.

Just like if someone wants to say we're going to suck for the next 20 years in the WMC thread. It might not be realistic, or based in fact, but that's a place for pessimism, so that's the place for it.

We haven't even seen our starting five yet.

    People need to calm down.

Did someone slap the sh** out of the woman that threw the drink? If not, then THAT is crazy.

A Malice In The Palace type brawl in the stands just prior to the game might have fired our guys up.

Hopefully we can put it together on the offense and the 3 point line on Sunday. Las Vegas has already seen one horrific shooting incident, without the Lakers contibuting more with our struggles to find the ever elusive hoop.
