Replace Lin with a cheaper backup then if he wants more minutes or a starting opportunity. Rondo, Kobe, and Love having annual injuries every year; Kobe will probably sit out all B2B's or just 'rest' during some games when his body isn't filling up to par to go on any given night. Lin and Clarkson can play the 1 and 2; I like what Scott did last year in experimenting with those 2 on the floor together. I thought it worked well. Additional, the beauty of Lin/Clarkson is their both players abilities to play some at the 2 spot. So, we're not just splitting minutes at the PG position; we're splitting minutes at both the PG and SG spots.

I understand the lineup might not work for some; it might seem like we can possibly do it financially. Nevertheless, with the unique position we're in, the assets we have, and the 2 seasons we just experienced, I fully expect Mitch to put together a roster that will contend for the PO's next year. They'll go after the max-player, acquire a center in the interim to ease the center we draft into the process of transitioning into the NBA, and go after a starting level SF, IMO. This is time right time to spend.

Do not want Kobe, Rondo & Love as our core... They might not even log 82 games between the 3 of them.. They're all very injury prone.

Kobe's gone by years end; Rondo will be on a 1 year deal. As for Love, the injuries are a concern, but I think the Lakers front office will take the chance. 2 year deal with an opt out...

I'd be OK with Love. Moving Randle to the 3 might be a concern, but I think he can actually do it. Clark/Kobe/Randle/Love/Okafor.... yeah, I think that would be fun to watch.

So I figured I'd throw out my lineup. Once again. This is what I think will happen, NOT what I hope.

    Towns/Black
    Love/Kelly
    Randle/Swaggy
    Kobe/R. Vaughn/J. Brown
    Rondo/Clarkson

With the chatter around Love, I have changed my mind (which I said was OK before the 20th). I think Love is coming, and I think we get Rondo on the cheap.

    Likely to happen:

    Rondo/Clarkson
    Kobe/Vaughn
    Randle/Young
    Love/Kelly
    Okafor/Black/Christmas

    Want to happen:

    Ellis/Clarkson/Wright
    Kobe/(Ellis)/Harvey
    Middleton/A.Brown/McDaniels
    Randle/Black
    Okafor/Biyombo/Upshaw

(Anthony Brown and Tyler Harvey acquired with late 2nd rounders from salary dumps of Young, Kelly, Sacre)

Also Towns is slipping to #2 in a lot of mocks it seems, I'd be happy if that became a reality.
