True. I hope that happens. In the mean time I hope we pick up a wing player using the Hardship Exception until Kelly comes back. Either Roscoe Smith or Manny Harris would do. We need another body out there.

It sounds terrible in light of his recent tragedy, but what are the odds Ellington gets cut? I don't think the Lakers would do it, but honestly if we could improve... would the FO consider it? Too soon? Ellington said recently that being on the court is one of the things helping him keep it together. I wouldn't cut him if I could help it, but we need some damn help.

If Mekel is still available, we need to cut Ronnie already. I like him, but we need the help.

Well... that's worth it then, thanks for clearing that up.

Waive Xavier, let him hang out with the team still if he's allowed to. Waive Price.

Pick up Miller and Mekel. Just do it, Mitch! It's time to do it! Xavier can't help us and Price isn't going to magically turn in to some different player.

Can't cut Ellington, IMO. Just not the fair or right thing to do. Plus he's a decent player. If he wants to play to keep his mind off things and to ensure earning his next contract, I'm all the way behind that. If he felt opposite then that would be very different. But as it stands it seems like this is a positive thing for him. He can contribute here. We know he can shoot.

I agree. I'm just trying to think of scenarios where we bring in help without sacrificing someone useful...

^^ Agreed. Cutting Ronnie for Mekel sounds like a good plan, real. Ronnie's not really helping much. I could see cutting him to make room for a different PG. As far as the SF/wing position I'd go for that hardship exception and bring one in until Kelly can come back. Either that or cut X but still pay him as Doc said. We need a wing for sure. And we could use an upgrade at backup PG.

Byron thinks Kobe is 26, Kobe thinks Kobe is 26, coaching stinks, etc...

Tough loss tonight. The starting unit with Booz and Wes is just so . . . complacent or something. It's really stale. Wes even plays more dynamically on the defensive end when he's in with Davis. We're still kind of offensively challenged, though. Great game finally by Ronnie Price though!

I'm changing my mind about Wes, honestly. I think he has now strung together four or five good games.

Wes looks better when he's in with Davis than Boozer, that's for sure.

Not being the only above average defender & athlete on the floor would help anyone.. When you're out there with Boozer, Kobe, & to a lesser extent Hill & Lin, the overall team defense is too bad for anyone to look good. Put Davis in Boozer's place & an athletic defender like Bledsoe in Lin's place & Wes would probably look like a role player we want to lock up long term.

Wes probably plays more aggressive defense when he knows Davis is behind him if he gets beat off the dribble.

This. I want to hate him and he still can't shoot, but he's not been the reason we're losing games.

With Young back some of the pressure is taken off of Wes and I think it's helping his game. The bigger issue is Booz who just drags the starting unit down way too much with his bad D and old man ball on offense. Wes plays much worse when Booz is alongside him. More minutes or better yet, starting role for Davis improves everything. Wes is tolerable if not a difference maker when he plays without Booz.

It's almost like a Raiders game. I don't even feel that bad when we lose now. How far we've fallen.
