Mavericks, who improved their roster from last year and took the Spurs to 7 games, are my darkhorse to come out of the West to go to the Finals.

Back on subject, we didnt have an efficiant second half, gave up way too many 3's, but unlike other games we did enough to win the game. Thats saying SOMETHING in my opinion and some of those problems are correctable. TEAM, coaching including has to want it, lets see if these guys want to make some noise and take a stand.

We are 3-10 right now, last season #8 seed went 49-33, so we would have to go 46-23 the rest of the way just to have a chance at being in consideration for the 8th seed.

Does anyone see that happening with us playing in the Western Conference? Yea me either.

It's time to start playing the young guys and players that will be here next season. We have to develop guys like JC/Davis/Ellington because going into every season with 1 year washed up veteran rentals is no way to go about building/developing a team.

Price/Boozer will not be here next season, why not play their backups that actually do BETTER than them anyway? More JC/Davis and Ellington(When he's ready). We aren't winning a title this year, let's try to get these younger guys playing at a high level, because playing these vets is going to be nothing but a waste at seasons end.

I don't get why it is so hard to guard the 3pt line for this team. That was the game right there. I guess because there isn't any rim protection so they have to be more cautious on getting beat as there isn't anyone back there to protect the rim. Honestly this team isn't any good. Amazing that they won 2 of 3 on this trip.

Lakers have always had a bad time guarding the 3, no matter who the coach or players are. It's pretty frustrating.

They did a decent job for two games, it's about rotations and communication. We defend the first pass and even the second pass pretty well, but Dallas was moving the ball amazingly around the 3pt line. Most teams do against us.

For whatever reason we don't communicate well defensively. How does that happen when they spend all practice on defense? I don't get it.

Offensive and defensive schemes are both hugely flawed; I understand we have meager talent, but the talent we do have isn't being properly utilized in the least.

I absolutely agree. Huge plus one on this post. Way to lay it down Doc. Booz should be on the bench. Price should probably be replaced if possible with Mekel. Clarkson should get some burn. Not going to lie, I'm a little concerned about Ellington. With what he just went through, that's rough stuff. I guess he's just out here playing basketball, there aren't high expectations with this squad and low pressure. But man, he could probably do with some time off and some counseling. He's dealing with trauma. I get that he probably needs to play for his next contract but time off is probably what he needs most is to deal with the mental stuff. Your father getting murdered is just gnarly.

I also agree. This team is not good for various reasons. I think everyone will agree with this. Therefore, the time to develop young players (and suck) is now. Reduce Kobe's minutes. Same goes for Boozer. Let the young guns figure it out. Those who do will get a contract -- and those who don't will obviously leave. Lin needs to build confidence. Ed Davis needs to play more, period. Ellington doesn't look amazing, but play him instead of Price. He'll get better. That's the idea. Byron has to realize this. Yes, we'll lose tons of games, but at this point we need to get that high pick and if we get lucky, maybe that new guy and Randle will develop into a new Durant/Westbrook type duo.

And then we get real Durant to play for our team.

Lets be honest, it was playoffs or bust.. and to build towards the future, bust is actually the better choice. Well, we got it, this team isnt going anywhere far, so I agree, throw the youngins into the wolves and let them battle until theyre bleeding a little.

Reality..... they are a bad team with no chemistry. There is no fixing this, no trades they could make to help. It's tough to watch with wanting them to win, yet hoping they don't to get into that worst record chase to keep that protected pick.

Top 5 Draft pick is actually gonna be harder than it looks to get.

    Phily is 0-13
    Lakers 3-10
    minny 3-10
    Thunder 3-10
    Detroit 3-10

so we're tied for second worst record with 3 teams. Every win we get is a step away from securing a top 5 pick. Anyone else concerned?

Well, the Thunder are definitely not going to be in that group once Durant and Westbrook come back.

Detroit, Minny, and Philly sure will be though. They'll need to look out for New York too.

I've read and heard on the radio of different analyst believing that Thunder is purposely trying to tank this year for a top pick. So they might stall the returns of their respective all Stars
