Oh I’m completely with you on all of this. I like Lonzo but I would have been fine trading the pick. I’m also on the record that trading Russell without having George locked up was a bad move. The only way this pans out is if we literally hit the grand slam of Lebron and George next year and Ball immediately makes an impact in the NBA.

More likely though, we’re putting all of our eggs into one basket as usual with no plan B if it doesn’t work out.

Paul is getting traded to a contender. End of story.

He will probably re-sign with that team.

And to think that LeBron or any other top tier FA is going to take a look at a 25-30 win roster isn't going to happen.

    We're ******

our only hope rests on three highly unlikely and jointly necessary premises:

    1. boston decides not to beat our offer (because they can, easily, like three times over).
    2. houston and cleveland can't get someone to help them beat our offer.
    3. pritchard decides to stop being a petulant child

CP2 had Clips over a barrel. Unrestricted. Hates Doc now and had already done the colluding. So he was going one way or another. Pacers still have rights to PG. There's certainly no genius technicality wizardry going on with Morey that Rob and Magic are not up on as well.

Hou would've still had to find ways to dump Anderson HAD cp3 not met with LAC and gave them alternatives, Hou/Morey found way not to have to. Magic/Rob used a former #2 to dump salary when they haven't secure anyone and or in hopes of 18' plan. If we were to compare the situation and Morey had to copy what Magic/Rob did, they would've had to give up 2 unprotected 1st and change to dump Anderson.

You're being selective. PG13 would be here now if he had an option on his upcoming year

    Very very different situations

It's amazing all those years you spend growing up with someone on Clublakers and LakersBall and think you know them, but then ..... Wow!!

Of course there's no optimism here. All of that is in the Optimism thread. This here's the WMC thread.

Sounded like a defeated, definitive statement of no hope, no matter what thread it appeared in.

And I'm just jerking his chain anyway. I don't believe it.

Yeah this is the exact thread where feeling down is a good thing. This is where you come to vent.

It was @puffyusaf#2 's greatest invention.

This is the worst stretch in Laker history. It shouldn’t be a surprise that some of us have had about enough and want to see a winning team out there.

No surprise at all. I'm pretty sure I feel the same. :Fishwink: Only made the comment because this quote, based on everything that I see happening, seems not based in any reality. Just trying to bring him back a little from the edge with a friendly tweak.

"No optimism here. None. We are done for the foreseeable future, and I see nothing but mediocrity in our future. It sucks, but it is what it is..."

For whatever reason anyone comes to WMC here ..... of course YMMV with the perceived reality of the situation. Have at it.

I think its funny that yall make fun of other teams fans over reacting etc, yet theres people in this thread embarrassing themselves prematurely and already ruining the feel of the upcoming season.

Youre talking and representing the Lakers fan base, and i know this is the WMC thread but just cause it exists doesnt mean you HAVE to use it lol.

I personally dont like being affiliated or represented like this being a Laker fan... Especially when were dealing with grown adults and sports were meant to be fun .

Anybody who is feeling bubbly, happy, and generally positive about our team, please feel free to to take your posts to the optimism thread.

Thanks. I'll continue my whining, moaning, and complaining.

    Thanks.

    LVBD is right.

I'm about as optimistic as they come and this thread is tough to be in sometimes, but this is where people come to vent. You can disagree if you'd like, but let people feel the way they have to feel. There's plenty of threads you can argue in. If you want to be positive after the sadness of this thread, go to the optimism thread. That's what I made it for.
