How badly does Time Warner feel ROYALLY SCREWED about now.

The Lakers have basically been unwatchable for nearly their entire contract so far.

I wonder if the ratings have fallen a lot. I believe NY fans have still watched the last 16 years.

Having a channel dedicated to the Lakers was a bad idea from the start. Theres just not a lot of content on it. Backstage Lakers is pretty cool but besides that and the games theres nothing else I enjoy. It's usually just the same old stuff over and over again, and the commercials are the same too. I haven't been to Carls since having to watch the Todd Gurley one 1000 times earlier in the season.

    Copy that. Agree to disagree!

Fwiw I didn't think we'd be able to keep it this year either. Over at Scout, I predicted 32 wins. Which, based on current winning percentages, would have the Lakers at the 8th worst record. So unless the lottery balls worked in our favor the way it did with the Cavs and Wiggins, I didn't have particular expectations. It's just now discussing 27 wins and potential 3rd worst record and a 46.9% chance at keeping the pick - along with watching some of the potential draft prospects - that has me salivating at the idea of keeping it.

Win enough to improve from last season's record and still be in the top three would be a satisfactory ending. Certainly not the high standards we're used to but for now it'll do.

I totally get that, EddieEddie, it would be great to actually keep it given where we will probably end up. That's funny, both of us predicted 32 wins this season. I did think it was slightly optimistic though. My head was telling me 30 was probably closer to the truth, but 32 just had that "Magic" ring to it.

I initially projected 29 but moved up to 32. Ever the optimist! lol

29 certainly doesn't have a "Magic" ring to it. In fact it has no ring to it as no Laker has ever wore that number. 28 had good ol DJ Mbenga. That's what I'm talking about.

I'd trade the pick even if we keep it.

If its #1 or #2 I would keep it. Its too hard to find a superstar in this league and a #1 or a #2 pick gives you the best chance although historically #1 performs SIGNIFICANTLY better than 2.

If not, get rid of it.

depends on the trade offer, of course. all star in prime, i trade any pick in this draft. tim duncan's not out there.

doesn't matter, as, again, we're giving philly the 4th pick for free.

I'm sure the Lakers, along with several other teams, will hit up Indy about George this summer.

This - among other things - is why I really want to keep the pick because it's added trade bait for a big move.

WMC: I was saying it in the gameday thread, but this game was the absolute worst. Randle played 21 minutes, Russell played 23 minutes, and Zubac played 10 freaking minutes. On top of that, the game plan in the 4th is give Lou the ball, set a screen, go to the corner and wait for the ball.

Luke is better than this game.

On top of that: Randle and Russell continue to exhibit the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over again.

We just not going to call a timeout at the end of the game and not realize Lou (Even though having a great game) has been absolutely terrible at end of the quarter looks?

Fire Mitch, get rid of Jim Bus. Need some kind of defensive coach to teach some D. Get rid of Moz, Dong, Calderon. Trade Lou for somebody good. Keep BI, Zubac, JC, Nance Jr, Nick, Black. Try to trade Randle+Dlo for an All-star. Get some shooters, defensive guys. I am so tired of losing. We are becoming Filly.(((
