If things stay the way they are we're 6th worst in the league record-wise. That means the most likely thing to happen is Philly keeps the pick and it ends up 7th. They'll likely get a pretty good player.

However, not that I want to tank, but we've got a 21.5% chance of keeping the pick.

This brings up a separate issue. Even if we keep the pick the top players in this year's draft are all PGs. Lonzo Ball, Markelle Fultz, Dennis Smith, and Malik Monk. There's also a few good Fs in Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, and Harry Giles. The one position the Lakers need above others is Center because we're not sure Zubac will end up being the player we hope he is. So if we keep the pick, what do we do with it? Do we keep Lonzo Ball? Do we draft another forward and create a log-jam? Do we trade it? Do we trade Russell and keep Ball?

It's a problem I'd rather have than giving up the pick altogether (especially because it'd turn the 1st we owe Orlando into two 2nds), but it's not an ideal situation to keep the pick either.

Lonzo Ball is a stud, IMO. I think he's a perfect fit.

The NBA would have finally cleared the slate for the Chris Paul screwing we got if we lucked into that guy without tanking. Here pass "this" around ..... :Magic Brows:

He would be the perfect PG I agree actually. Athletic enough to defend decently, good size, great, willing, and natural passer. I like a lot of what I see out of Ball. I like Fultz too for that matter.

The question still though is what do you then do with Russell? Keep him at the other guard spot? Ball is a tremendous floor general who has shown shades of Jason Kidd. I think ideally you move Russell to SG, but can he guard SGs? Can Ball?

Ball at PG, DLO at the 2, they switch on D, im more than down with that. We're not keeping the pick this year though (we've been more than lucky the past few years anyways)...

Ball and Russell is a problem I wouldn't mind figuring out.

How many end of the quarters buzzer beaters are we going to give up before we learn?

Bad loss. Only two guys showed up tonight. This team has got to get on the same page and stay there.

Only D'Angelo, Lou, and Clarkson were able to provide any real impact. Other than the early part of the 1st quarter, defense was non-existent.

Pathetic loss. No heart, no fight, and especially no defense.

Our guards need to stop going under screens, it's annoying as hell.

Randle and Russell really need to bring it every night. Pussing out every other game or two ain't gonna cut it.

    Thats a disturbing trend...

/season. really disappointed in how things have gone after the team showed its hand early in the season. i knew they weren't that good, but they're even worse than i expected--and my expectations were low.

I agree, I didn't expect to keep up with the early returns, but didn't see us dropping the way we have.

I turned the game off at halftime due to being sick and needing to sleep. What the hell happened? How did we lose this game? It's not like Detroit is that good.
