I admit I’m starting to worry that our backcourt isn’t good enough to bring us a title home. They can’t shoot and they can’t defend.

...lock up the number seed then assume the fetal position? The hell? Read that the squad did not talk about the accomplishment but to keep it going. Now stuck in neutral?

Poor coaching, no reliable on court player.. LeBron's all over the place, our back court is atrocious.

Gonna be an early exit unless somebody can hit open looks and play mediocre defense. Look terrible so far.

We have a few more games to wake up. Because what ever is happening on the court is not Laker basketball. Defense is great but it’s not the 80 anymore. You have to be able to score too and this team forgot how to shoot.

Lebron is simply not going to exert effort Post-Miami/old man if it doesn't make a difference in terms of standing or reputation (i.e. Clips game)
The regular season is basically pre-season in his head and the real games don't start till the playoffs and I don't buy any of the happy talk that they're going to try being good: he's played like this till the playoffs for the last 5 years.

Cost the Cavs Luka Doncic when he half-assed a game against the Nets who the Cavs had their pick and they won lol.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that this was a soft tank (not some planned, deliberate tank, but a loss fueled by the knowledge that they'd be better off with the L). We'd really have an easy path to the conference finals if Houston could drop to 6th and we could play the winner of Jazz/Thunder in the second round. If they come out and thump Houston tomorrow, I think we'll have a better idea of what happened tonight.

I'm not really worried: no Howard tonight, minimal KCP after the knock.

That lead to more JR and more McGee/AD lineups. McGee/AD lineups with Green playing like the way he is going to be an offensive slog. Vogel really didn't seem like he cared about matching up better with OKC this game

I guess we'll see today. It's possible. The Rockets dropped from #4 to #6.

So we currently can't defend or shoot 3s, not great.

I don't know after the Clips game they seem be actively trying not to win.
I mean starting Cook of all dudes and not Dion put this team automatically at a bid disadvantage (not that Dion is great or anything but at least he's a threat off the PnR)

If Lebron is healthy, I think Kuz's play is very very encouraging nothing else really matters. I expect guys like KCP and Morris to go revert to their career averages

We have been playing terribly. Apart from Kuzma, everyone is off. Green, KCP, Markieff and JR need to step up if we are going to contend. Waiters have been fine. We need to get 60pts from those 6 players. 2 of them need to go for 15/20 every night.

McGee, D12 and Caruso will not be relevant offensively and do their job.

LeBron is also off in the bubble and AD needs to turn up the gear and be a monster if we are going to the title. No chance if they don't play at MVP level every game.

It's true that we are comfortable right now, but switching off is always bad. We need a culture of winning and hardwork every game, regardless of who plays. I can accept LeBron or Davis having off nights in these games because I know they can get it on when it matters. But all the other guys need to continue to play hard, there's no excuse.

And we will likely get Portland on the 1st round and they can definitely steal a game if not 2. We need to be ready

eh, to me, this whole thing is a joke. i said so before the lakers came out looking like garbage. it's just not the natural course of things, and so weird stuff is going to happen. we'll probably get some flukey champion like houston or toronto (sorry, i know they're a plucky fun team, but they're not the best one by a long shot). i wish they wouldn't have continued the season, tbh. i've barely watched because i can't muster much concern for the outcomes.

The chemistry is off. They don't seem to be enjoying themselves there.
