The majority of our roster can't dribble or pass the ball .

We like one dimensional role players .

Sure Vogel isn't an offensive genius but it is what it is ...

In what world do you construct a NBA roster with only one ballhandler ???

In Rob's mind, he didn't; he signed Rondo, and that filled the PG role.

Do I agree? Nope. But I guess his assist to turnover ratio 4:1, so that's cool.

Rondo shouldn't get minutes in the NBA anymore .

I wish people would get that

The team deferred to A.D. wayyyyy too often. Needed to get the ball moving set some picks get some guys open for easy looks... they don't need to be point guards or Lebron to do that....... they're better than this.

I would take JR Smith over Cook, Daniels and Rondo right now. It’s not saying much but at least he will make open shots and create his own shot.

Back end of the roster needs some tweaking for sure.

You really like watching Cook shoot 21% from 3 (outside of two good shooting games out of 30 games)?

Or Rondo throw one hand scoop passes to no one while simultaneously not being guarded by anyone?

Or Daniels rot on the bench with his only specialty being to hit shots at below average?

This bench needs a boost. A scoring boost. A not need Lebron or AD in the game at all times boost. Someone to split 5-10 minutes a night with Kuzma where we are putting up points with those two on the bench

    Honest wondering...?

Would we be better off if we'd given D'Lo the max slot we created for Kawhi? He got 4 x $117m.

so, i guess people would have even more scrubs about whom to hem and haw all season long?

    so, yes? yes.

This loss is on Vogel - he's made some terrible decisions against the top teams that I'm not understanding at all

You cannot start Bradley and Rondo for God sakes - that's where we lost this game.

    LBJ 180 3 pt attempts at 35.6%
    DG 154 at 38.3%
    AD 104 at 29.8%
    KCP 95 at 38.9%
    Kuz 93 at 35.5%
    Troy 73 at 34.2%
    AC 58 at 34.5%
    Rondo 53 at 41.5%
    AB 44 at 25.0%
    Cook 37 at 32.4%
    Dudley 19 at 52.6%

Team 3 point attempts 915 at 35.6% Rank 23rd in attempts... Tied for 15th in average%

If AD didn't shoot threes we'd shoot 36.4% which would make our team 7th in 3pt average.
If AB and AD didn't shoot threes we'd rank 5th in average %

This is with Troy and Cook shooting below their averages

I would redistribute those attempts and give the bulk of AD and AB's 3 point shots to Daniels and Cook... I'd also increase the volume 10% which would put us at league average attempts shooting at 5th in average %. Assuming Troy and Cook returned to their normal level... assuming Rondo and Dudley regressed slightly... I think you'd see a huge improvement in 3 point efficiency.

Our problem isn't three pointers... it's who is taking them...

I think AD can improve his 3 pointer... but it should be shot more when the game is a blowout. I get he needs to keep the defense honest... but the offense seem geared towards stat padding the stars as opposed to doing what is best for the team. He takes a lot of shots when I think they should try to get it to Green, Daniels, KCP, Dudley or Cook instead. I don't mind LBJ taking them because at least he's reasonably efficient.

It's telling how people want to blame Cook and Daniels who have been poor... but as you can see it's AD that's bringing us down in that area.

More reps for Daniels and Cook would fix them.

Cook is still a 41% 3 pt shooter even including this terrible season for him
Daniels is still a 39.7% 3 pt shooter even including this subpar season for him.

Why no one blames AD and AB for the shooting is a mystery to me. You can be amazing in other categories yet still deserve criticism for another.

Coaching staff asked AD to shoot more threes. Nobody gets on him because he’s a top five nba player. Nobody gets on Steph curry for not shutting off iso dribble penetration, either. You’re not even allowed to talk about harden’s “defense”.

In the game time chat I've also wanted AD to shoot more threes... but that's only because it's preferable to the midrange which hasn't fallen as it usually does for him.

Again, I get that he needs to shoot outside on occasion to keep defenses honest. Where I have a problem is when they play hot potato on the 3 point line and the minions pass up on open threes to defer to AD. That specifically shouldn't be done. Vogel needs to take the lead and make the team aware of whose shot is falling or who is historically good and let them shoot more. I feel like there is a pecking order and although that should be respected for touches in general... when it comes to threes... we need more of them and more of the right people taking them.

If we don't we will continue to fall victim to good shooting, high volume three point shooting teams.

So what if we had AB, AD, DG combined with Dwight or JaVale on defense... if you can't score it all it doesn't matter how good your defense is.

We kept playing half court... running the shot clock down to near zero when we were twenty points behind and taking contested twos.

When you are 20 points behind... you need to get at least two good shooters and start matching the other team shot for shot.

Denver kept launching threes and we kept taking twos when we were 20 points behind. There was no way we were going to catch up with that strategy once we had fallen behind. It would be like expecting the Pistons or Knicks of the nineties to catch up with Showtime once they were in a hole.
