This post might be the most delusional post I've ever read...

we would be a lottery team AGAIN had we kept that young core that you speak so highly of....cuz that's exactly where the pels are right now and their team actually HAS talent and yet they're severely underperforming.

We're 24-5 and #1 in the west, #2 in the entire league. We put all our eggs in the RIGHT basket - AD is 26 my man. He's gonna get better and he can attract another star here easily.

We wouldn't be a lotto team because the key to everything is LBJ. Our record wouldn't be as good, but we'd be in the playoff hunt.

This year would be no doubt worse... after this year is a different story.

The Pelicans winning percentage during AD's tenure was .437

The kids last season before LBJ came was .427

LBJ with the kids before the injury was 3rd in the West.

You can disagree with what I'm saying but to call it delusional doesn't make sense. It's just two different philosophies that have their pros and cons.

Your way is win now but perhaps sacrifice flexibility in the future. It will work fine if LBJ leaves when he declines... if he overstays it will become difficult to sign the other star you mentioned. That is a huge if that you failed to mention. I agree AD will attract a good star because he's a great teammate... I'm more skeptical that LBJ will leave immediately when he goes downhill.

My way doesn't have the superstar, but it does have a budding all star in Ingram as well as a good reserve in Hart... whichever piece we would have taken between Hunter/Hayes/Garland/White/Culver... and all our first round picks. Plus Ball and potential access to LaMelo which might be more important than Lonzo himself. We also probably don't do the fire sale for Mo/Bonga and other small assets. My method also wouldn't have prevented signing AD next season.

Your way has worked so far... but it does have holes as many pro trade people have admitted. We were extremely lucky to sign Dwight and have him perform well, although his age did show against a long team like the Bucks.

I'm rooting for your way to work because I have no choice... but I simply preferred a different path. Unless you think a forum should only have like opinions maybe you should rethink the use of delusional.

Please expand on this. How does that work where the draft gets controlled and why would you want back in bed with Lavar if you're insinuating he could help orchestrate it? Wow no thanks. Plus now top dollar to Ingram and who knows what Lavar wants and how he would seek to always be playing the situation.

That's one of the lowest priorities on my list... but let's face it LaVar could do something as crazy as let LaMelo sit out until he could sign with the team he wanted. The one thing good about LaVar is that he thinks outside of the box... so if he wanted LaMelo here... he'd find a way.

And no I'm not a fan of his disruptive antics... I'm just saying if Melo is as good as advertised... it was one of the benefits of keeping Zo... even if he never pans out.

I've already said if we had to sacrifice BI to sign AD next season... so be it.

We'd still have our #4 pick, some young pieces and our future picks.

If we don't win this year... then we could have waited.

LBJ complained about feeling bad the other night... and now he's sitting out?

Can't blame the guy as he's been a trooper for us... but even if he has the heart... at some point the heart isn't enough if age kicks in.

There you go again abeer throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.

I can always count on you to ignore everything in a long post of mine and focus on the one word or sentence that seems shaky.

I agreed it was an insignificant or silly point... however, if LaMelo is actually good rather than a bust... it might mean something later on down the line.

I disagree with everything you say, even if you are right. So, where do we go from here?

Too many turnovers, AD getting injured again, Denver pretty much getting anything they want... tonight was rough.

Kuzma had 16 points in his return, but he was the only other player besides AD over 10 points.

That's not going to cut it, so that's pretty disappointing. Our team has become so Lebron dependent because of his ball dominant ways that they don't know how to run plays to manufacture points. I hope The Big L sees that while he's out and adjusts accordingly.

Lue ran a pretty good offense with Bron in Cleveland; I just don't think Vogel is going a good job in that respect.

For example, as LFR points out: this team is heavily dependent on "shot creation" from their two superstars; they have some sets, but when a good team like Milwaukee scouts them out (Spain Pick in Roll for instance), the Lakers don't have any counters...

This could be due to the lack of practice time, too.

I mean: there is much to complain about tonight...very much, but I'll refrain until tomorrow.
