It's been a difficult month. I'm hoping we can scrape a couple more wins together this month.

Difficult schedule mixed with injuries and youth (blowing a couple games we had) makes for frustrating growing pains.

We'll be better in the end for it though. I really believe that.

I knew our schedule sucked but its nice to have some actual data backing that up.

Makes me feel a lot better about all these losses knowing we should be hitting an easier patch soon.

I predicted an 8 game winning streak this year. We'll need that if we want to sniff .500 again this year.

Edit: So Luke is taking the blame for that last play. Apparently Russell was supposed to get it to Williams but couldn't and settled for the long jumper. Still thought he had enough time to drive it in for a layup, floater or something or still kick it out to Deng in the corner if the defender helps. Oh well.

Even though we lost I appreciated the fight on our squad today. These are the loses I can accept. My whine today was that Australian sniper shooting us down and uncontested

Just got home a while ago and it was my very first live Lakers game and visit to Staples Center! Those bounce passes near the paint really annoyed me, but I was also impressed with the fight of this team and it was a great game to watch.

I thought BI completely getting lost which resulting in a Lyles three ( Utah retook a 92-91 lead) was way worse

gotta beat utah sans george hill at home. utah minus hill is a bad basketball team. but not as bad as the lakers, i guess--a distinction that belongs to very few teams at this point.

Defensive miscues down the stretch, inept offense early in the third (I think they had six points in the first six minutes).

Utah is a top 3-5 defensive team in the nba, not too bad considering...

I have to respectfully disagree. Not to mention they've had a huge amount of injuries, Hayward and Diaw have missed just under 10 games each so far, Hill has missed 20, Favours has missed 15 games and Hood and Exum have missed a handful each. With all this in mind, Utah is one of the best defensive teams in the league, Gobert is just a beast - easily a top 5 center based on impact. Hayward is a borderline all-star and is playing extremely well this season. Their record of 19-13 could easily be 24-8 without injuries.

Utah is a top team in the west when health, and realistically I only put GSW CLEARLY above them. It can be argued that SAS, HOU and LAC are probably better too, but that's not totally clear just yet - Utah has gone 1:1 with all those teams. Gobert is the game changer really, if he can continue playing this kind of interior defence, it allows their perimeter defenders to defend the 3pt line more aggressively. This gives Utah a chance to win every night.

Haven't fact checked this but I think the Jazz also play the slowest pace. Slowly down the game also really helps their defense, less transition opportunities.
