I know perimiter d is the 1st problem, just saying if we had actual paint protectors some of this bad perimiter d could be masked. I mean does orl look like they had good perimiter defenders? Ibaka and biyombo probably cover up alot for their weak guard defense

    This is tragically disheartening.

It truly sucks to root for a lottery team with the only positive being the words " future" , "potential" and "imagine in a few years"

What a luxury to have Ibaka and Biyombo down low on D. And when they're hitting shots like they were last night, it's over. I don't think Orlando has good perimeter defense. I'm not sure we need shot blockers, but another defensive presence down low would be nice. When can Zu step up?

We started the season off so well with so much promise and now we look like a mess. 1-12 I December, that's giving me flashbacks to the past several seasons.

Yeah I noticed Lakers didn't try to exploit the fact that they were clogging the lane so much they were leaving shooters wide open on the perimeter. Instead they kept trying to force the issue which led to the 9 blocks in that first quarter and they never recovered. They've played the most road games so far or at least they're up there so right now we know they are not a good road team at all. My hope is that they can regain some sort of confidence playing in front of their home crowd, maybe gain some momentum going into and after AS break.

We started much better than expected, that's why what we see now hurts so much. I'm having a hard time convincing myself, to wake up in the middle of the night to "suffer" for 2 hours...
I realy need something positive to get me going. Life is getting harder, Lakers suck, what the hell is wrong with the world...

Orlando gives up exactly the same amount of pts than last season per possession ( 1.036) , good for 15th in the league , 16th last season .

There would be so many mistakes for them to cover on our team , I'm not sure what type of impact the best PF-C defensive combo would have on our team .

We do miss Tarik and his defensive chemistry with Lance though

    T-Rob is trash on D

IMO, Zu should be playing 15 minutes a night. It'll speed up the learning curve. Luke is coaching for the playoffs this year, when he should be preparing for the playoffs next year. Give the kid some minutes.

I didn't expect us to be great, I predicted a 20-30 win season, but I did expect us to beat teams like the Suns, Nets, and Magic consistently. Those are teams I had us as better than for sure, and yet here we are. It's not the losing that I'm upset about, it's who we are losing to, road games or not.

Great, the one game I don't watch because I don't want my Christmas night ruined by a blowout and we win. Now I feel like a bad fan with a lack of faith. I should always remember to never give the Clippers too much credit even when they've owned us for a few years. I also didn't know Chris Paul wasn't playing tonight, I knew Griffin was out, but not Paul or I'd have watched.

Sorry Weezy. Well, you're lucky you didn't watch that first quarter. Our D was so atrocious it was making me furious and it was not how I wanted to feel on Christmas. Thankfully the bench played well in the second to get it close then the starters came alive for the third quarter. Felt great to finally get a W again.

Why is it every time I look at our schedule it looks tough? Apparently we've played the most games, fact check that for me please.

Had an early road trip, then a string of tough teams. Saw GSW twice back to back. Had a stretch of "easier" teams but was in the middle of a 13 day road trip. And now the next 5 are against playoff teams.

It's true for sure we've played the most games, and I think the most road games (not 100% sure about that).

But that's good for us for the rest of the season. Get the tough schedule out of the way.

A few facts about the schedule:

With 34 games played, LAL have played the most games in the NBA. No other team has played 33. Some teams have played as few as 28 (e.g., Milwaukee).

With 20 road games played, the Lakers have played the most road games. Boston is right behind them at 19. Indiana and Cleveland have 11. The Sixers have only 10.

The Lakers' 2-12 record in December is the worst in the NBA. In November, they were tied for the 12th best record at 9-8.

They Lakers do not have the most blowout (10+ ) losses. That's a title Brooklyn and Phoenix share (13), but the Lakers are one behind them with 12.

According to Sagarin, the Lakers have the second most difficult schedule in the NBA so far. Coupled with the most games played, you could argue that they've had the toughest go. Dallas, whose schedule is #1, has played only 30 games, including 16 on the road.
