When you shoot 49-49-82 and score 113 points, offense can't be the problem, even if you go scoreless for a whole quarter. You scored enough to win.

Defense has been the one and only issue in this 11 game melt down. Not injuries not chemistry not coaching. If they can fix it, they will start winning. If they don't, they won't win 30 games this year.

I meant the disparity in free throws, sorry that format I put it in is terrible.

Losing Larry shows up in a lot of areas but no bigger than grabbing key rebounds in the 4th quarter. We got killed on the boards in key positions of the game. Also, not scoring a single point off of their turnovers is unheard of considering the amount they had.

I expected the defense to be bad but not this bad ... like 22-25 th in the league , not 29 th ..

    We need better defenders

Not being biased but I really do not agree with a lot of things Zach said in that article.

Long and rambling. So many sports writers have no idea how to write.

The Lakers need to play defense.

A superstar is a nice addition if you're already a playoff team. Our lack of cohesiveness on defense is keeping us down. Cousins isn't going to change that.

This is for sure right. Layup drills and open threes.

Well looks like the tank is back in town. The defense is bad right now but it seems the third quarter where the opposition makes adjustments and we don't is where we're really struggling; noticing more open threes for opposition and uncontested layups. Also noticing we're not winning the 50-50 balls sometimes which again leads to scores for the other team. Plus Russell is just really bad with his turnovers, trying to force plays where he shouldn't. I can chalk it up to his inexperience so hopefully he can clean this up in time. It's just kind of frustrating to watch right now.

Two complaints: perimeter defense is awful. DA, JC, Lou, and to a lesser degree Nick. Terrible.

We do pass a lot - mostly around the perimeter, and of those often just to let someone else run to the top of the key and do nothing. Our passes are fake passes. We're an ISO team.

Another incredibly frustrating loss. Again, up by 19 points and we don't get the W. The defense sucks. Hate to say it but it's starting to look like D' Antoni ball with the lack of stops and the huge blown leads. Come on Luke. Get these guys to close it out.

Oh yeah, and when Luke put MWP in of course I knew we were going to lose our lead. He simply should not be playing. I know we were missing Randle, Nance and Black, but still. Play Zubac not MWP.

Can't ******* watch these losses anymore. Two back to back games where we basically blew 20 point leads against mediocre teams.

It's so annoying because we look amazing and confident in one moment then absolute garbage the next.

Guess that's what happens when you rely on your offense alone. Defense just isn't there at all.

MWP shouldn't be on the roster. I have a hard time believing there isn't a player out there, undrafted free agent, D-League, foreign pro, somewhere, that doesn't warrant a shot in the NBA over a guy who was done 3/4 years ago. I've just lost interest in this team right now. I don't mean to sound like a bad fan, but I've got some issues going on in real life, and the Lakers used to be my escape but now they're just another frustration I don't need added on. I find myself watching 1 out of every 3 or 4 games, I just can't be bothered, I just don't currently care. The team started hot and their effort and play made me care, but I've seen them fall off and that effort level dip to unacceptable levels, like blowing back to back really big leads. I don't need the Lakers to win every game for me to care, I predicted we'd win 20-30 games this season, but I expect better effort and competitiveness, not giving up 110+ points every game. I'm over this for the moment, and I certainly won't be tuning in to see us get destroyed by the Clippers Christmas Day.

Agreed . I'd look at what I can get for JC though if I were the Lakers . A good rim protector or a good perimeter defender.

At this point JC does nothing but scoring with an average efficiency

Yep it sucks .. especially after 3 useless seasons .

The youth of our players can't be the excuse for every mistake and every game ... I don't buy it against the Suns/Nets/Heat of this league
