I don't like that this offense features no backdoor cutting. Our sets are getting stale as our players refuse to look for the other motions and reads. I've seen countless opportunities for quick, easy buckets going to the rim if our guys were looking (able?) to make back door passes. Instead we keep moving the ball and screening on the perimeter until Nick, D'Angelo, Jordan, or Lou get a three or a long two.

I want to see easier drives to the rim instead of Jordan, Luol, and Julius having to bully their way to the rim.

Not saying I disagree because I have noticed this as well to a certain extent.

Nontheless we SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK on defense. This needs to get fixed first.

Oh there's lots to fix. I agree the defense is more important, but I've just been noticing the blown opportunities more and more lately.

I think it's due to the injuries. It made us rely too much on hero ball from Lou to stay competitive (and we pulled off some wins with that play) and I think it's going to take a while to "unlearn" that.

With our defense being so poor, we have to execute well on offense.

That's probably true, but we weren't focused on it before. As time goes on, I expect those passes to be made in this offense but I'd like for them to happen more often.

The only one that comes to mind is Celo who finds Lou and Clarkson all the time on that little baseline cut move they've worked out.

are we really going to hand philly a top 5 pick in a strong draft while also killing my hopes that any progress towards a rebuild has occurred?

Our issues are coming down to defense.

No matter how many points we put up, how many turnovers we commit, it's our horrible defense.

Luke has done a fine job offensively, we look good, not great, but better. We need a defensive coordinator to fix the holes on D though, because it's leaking everywhere.

Some times Lou has hit JC with a great lob on the backdoor cut. Haven't seen it in a while though. The second unit has to get its mojo back since the lineups have lost chemistry with the injuries and switches.

Those last 15 Minutes against the Sixers were hard to watch. Just very sloppy Basketball by two bad Teams. Cant wait untill we dont belong in that category anymore and i dont have to watch those kind of NBA games no more.

The turnovers down the stretch were really bad.

yeah, it kind of sucked the fun out of the game after the good first half. i did like that the lakers stayed aggressive on the boards even after things fell apart offensively, though. some of the other games in this recent stretch featured some clear "give up".

I get it's the WMC thread... but we dominated sixes all game and with our young squad we let them get back into it.

The only way I'd be down to tank is if we traded Deng,Lou,Moz,Young, maybe Clark for a LEGIT pick(s) or a hurt player that's not a risk long term.

PURPOSELY shut down Russell? Let Randle,Ingram,Zu,Nance get wild minutes and figure it out.

Too many points off turnovers given up against a championship team, plus the offense went on break at exactly the wrong time.

For me this was the definition of the moral victory. I don't think anyone here expected us to really pull a W on the second night of a back to back against the reigning champs on the road. But we fought hard and were still in it by the end of the game.

The rookie Ingram almost had himself a triple double!! Julius with another strong offensive performance shooting over 50%, with 16 and 7 assists, JC had a great offensive game on the road adding 20, and Nick Young exploded with 32 making about 60% of his shots. A lot of effort and some good results under the circumstances. I'll take it.
