the NBA is what it is today because of d'antoni and wade

d'antoni paved the way for the death of the true "back to the basket" center, small ball that we see today, and the emphasis on 3 pt shooting that the game practically revolves around now

wade was harden before harden. remember d-whistle? he'd pull the same crap. drive to the basket just to try and get fouled to get to the FT line

PLUS ..... Harden cheats on top of that with whatever he can get away with. Push offs, pushing Ingram last night causing the travel, hooking arms, etc. Hate this emm effer!!

Harden is much worse than young Wade though.

Is there a detailed article on the Lakers medical staff these latest years and what it is doing to anticipate/prevent and handle injuries and keeping up pace with the "new health technologies" ?

It can't be just a question of luck .

Looks like the typical " we have little limit on budget but we aren't employing the best people available for whatever reason" crap the Lakers have been pulling in others areas

Something I'm curious about: How can the people of Houston support and cheer for Harden? Don't they see what's going on? Do they enjoy seeing him flop everywhere and shoot 20 ft's a game, and get every "foul" go in his favour? Remember those disgusting fouls when he jumped on people's backs, and got the foul to go in HIS favour?

Do they not see what's going on?

I'm in Houston, and people seem to love the Rockets. When I've brought up (Pretending to be a Houstonian) how I just wish that CP2 and Har'en wouldn't flop so much, I get this pause look lol. People ignore their own players flaws when they are winning I guess.

Seems strange. When we were winning the '09 and '10 championships, nobody discounted the notion that Sasha Vujacic was a flopper. We knew it. Opposing fans knew it. I still supported Sasha's antics since it got under the skin of the opponent. It wasn't like he had the footspeed to play real defense anyway. If Rockets fans simply said, "Yeah he flops, but I love the way it pisses off the other team", I'd at least respect them for being honest.

we allow ourselves a lot of delusions about our teams and their players. i've seen houston fans claim harden doesn't get to the line enough. i'm sure most think all the fouls are because he can't be stopped and would score 100ppg if he weren't constantly fouled.

also, your casual fan only sees his made stepback jumpers in highlights (missing the two he misses for every make). so, the perception that he's an unstoppable force seems more plausible.

And the refs now missing (on purpose?) the 1 step extra he often takes on those step backs. Is this like a crab dribbling thing .... where's sirron? I've never had a clue what that was about. Am assuming another traveling infraction the refs choose with certain stars to ignore.

Sasha was a rotation player , Harden is their franchise player . Lots of fans are highly sensitive about and are defending their superstar player at all costs .

    It's normal .

The thing with Wade was that he couldn't shoot so defenders always gave him the shot and sagged off toward the basket. It was harder for Wade to get to the rim but he was more athletic.

Harden can shoot and will shoot, therefore defenders have to defend him much more tightly which in turn makes it easy for him to get a step on them quickly.

yeah, i knew we were in trouble when the nba refs released footage of harden traveling and claimed that it wasn't traveling. i mean, you don't allow others to do the same thing...

if you do, just imagine if (when?) better shooters like curry and thompson develop that same move. the whole league will turn into isolation step-back threes as the primary offense. it's not like nobody else can pull off that move. hell, luka doncic is already almost as good at it as harden, and his shooting wasn't even considered a strength coming in.

the scary part was curry had a "bad game", and boogie is still coming around and learning the ins and outs.

the only hope for other teams is if they are dealing with injuries

You have the most talented shooting lineup in the history of the NBA, and they just got a legit big to play ball with and to draw attention. Those guys are in hog heaven right now. Happy for Boogie that he seems to be making a solid recovery, and if he stays healthy, he will only get better.

Wow, what a handful that lineup is.

houston's still a problem for them because they force them to play their brand of ball. also, high-powered offenses might find ways to exploit cousins on d.

but yeah, other than that, only injuries prevent a title for them. and maybe not "other than that", maybe in addition to the above. so, a fully healthy houston team against gs if they're a quart low.
