I stopped watching after the first quarter. You could tell it was gonna be a loss and a bad one. I had better things to do than to watch that debacle.

 

Definitely need LeBron out there running the offense. Kuzma is the sure second option to LeBron but we're still lacking. We need a consistent offense game plan, stat.

Trav, that tweet was on January 2nd 2019...nowhere near last summer's draft or this upcoming draft.

You can insinuate that Mr. Soriano implied that he's satisfied with not only the potential, but the current production of the players we have drafted. I know there are folks saying some of our guys are busts but based off their production so far, you put our guys on other teams and make them high usage like DLo or Jules and they will most likely put up numbers.

Again, I know you're a DLo guy, but talented players will produce...it's really what that production leads to in team success. DLo, Jules and JC are putting up career numbers and Nance just got an extension.... but all of them (Nance the exception) are doing so with a high amount of volume in usage and on mostly losing teams.

It's one thing to develop players to put up stats...quite another to put up numbers that lead to Ws.

Case in point: Bron with pretty much the same Cavs team last year - Eastern Conference champs. This year, that same team without Bron - Eastern Conference chumps. Bron's numbers matter! #CheckMyStats

Make those stats count otherwise you're just wasting that talent.

As for development, Luke and his staff/assistants were hired by the previous regime. He's been on the job for full 2 seasons and had to face a roster overhaul of 8 new players this season. Maybe...that needs time to marinate and develop still.

Meanwhile, Magic and Rob have only been on the job together for 1 full season...how does player development from previous regimes really fall on them?

Zo had a lost summer of training due to injury. BI is no different than Jaylen Brown in that he's struggling this year with a healthy Hayward and Kyrie back in the lineup. Hart has developed from last year and Kuz validates (although temporarily) his SOD status with a 41 piece!

Speaking of Kyrie...

Putting up stats on a bad team is development for a good NBA player. But is it enough for a great one (see why NBA heads would want AD to take his talents elsewhere)? JC, Jules and DLo are likely on teams that won't make much noise into May... meanwhile, Zo, BI, Kuz, Hart and Zu are on a team where our star likely puts us into title contention by himself. Their stats and development take a different path than those other guys we exiled.

But I agree with you that our old and new regime have not properly developed our kiddies...playoff basketball would change that, no?
