We desperately need a bonafide 2nd superstar player. To be honest, I’d rather land one in free agency this summer, unless it’s a trade for AD. The flaws our kids have will be a lot less glaring with a legit #2. I still think they all have potential to be key cogs to a championship team for years to come.

I have the same thought, can't expect kids to carry this team, my only gripe is, they should make free throws, that's fundamental, how in the blue hell can you miss half consistently of something you practice consistently? May as well not practice.

During the postgame, Luke was saying, and i'm paraphrasing "they know, they are professionals, they practice their FTs, just got to start making them".

Sigh. Well obviously what they are currently doing at the practice facility is not translating to in game success. I don't mean to single out one player, but for example, Lonzo is technically shooting a worse percentage at the line than last year. If this was any other job, you get put on PIP and if you don't improve, your employment is terminated.

What is Luke supposed to do? Shot FT's for them? Start to charge a 1000 for a missed FT? Provide some hypnosis sessions? Bench for a quarter after missing 2 in a row?
    IT's ON PLAYERS, they SUCK.

Well Luke for 1) should display a sense of urgency during the press conferences instead of having such a laid back attitude and 2) change what they are doing at the practice facility. Don’t just have them shoot FTs...shoot FTs after they sprint up and down the court, hire crowds to yell profanities at them while they are on the line, do something to have it simulate real game situations.

Missing fts is psychological; luke was trying not to rattle them further, imo.

    Lonzo's fragile as hell, especially.

Kobe warned Rob his biggest challenge would be to be patient.

Should have sent a memo to fans too.

Not that it would help. We’ve really stunk for a long time as a team, so fans are ready for results.

Expecting a former super high mileage MVP to rescue us sounds like a disaster waiting to happen as well.

Not sure I see this ending well. Not sure we’re willing to make moves this year. Not sure we have the right pieces or the right coach.

Dang, lots to WMC about apparently, and I didn’t even touch on our shooting woes.

How did it happen by the way ... I missed it. Did he take a fall from in the air. How gnarly did it look whatever it was and in how much pain did he appear to be leaving the floor?

    It's a shooting skill too .

I don't think there are many good outside shooters who are bad at the FT line .

I would love to see the stat numbers on their individual free throws during practice. I wonder if it’s like the numbers we saw on the white board we saw a few years ago. Players making them but not in a game. If it is that, then it’s mostly mental. Yes they can be tired during the game and that can affect it a bit but, mostly mental midgets.

Eh, there's some skill, sure. But some very bad shooters can hit 80%. See deandre Jordan as a recent example.

When guys who can hit contested midrange shots miss fts, it's in their heads.

all these "youth" have some sort of major deficiency that dont seem to be improving much...Kuz is still a major liability on D, Ball can't shoot, Ingram just not sure of himself and his role but in general just very avg at most things basketball

and Hart. He's just short and plays video games too much. Smiles a lot too, and can't get a foul to save his life.

Right. The reason he just goes up there and rushes his fts isn't apathy, as been suggested. He rushes because he knows the longer he stands there the more the pressure will get to him. It's strange because the kid has been pretty clutch in other areas. Maybe it's selective memory, only recalling the makes, but he tends to hit big 3s in the clutch.
