    I’ll grant you the season long plus minus without considering other factors (Giannis). But his one rebound performance was not a weird hiccup. Brolo averages 28 minutes and 4 rpg. Maybe abeer is right and it doesn’t matter. But I’m old school Riley on the boards; “No rebounds no rings.” Not from my center.

    riley was referring to team rebounding. if lopez's team gets killed on the boards while he's on the floor, that may be an issue. but his individual rebounding numbers aren't really a concern. also, i wonder if rebounds track victories as much as they used to (i'm sure someone has conducted this analysis in several ways).

    but yeah, if you want to run, you have to defend and board (something dantoni has never fully grasped). i think the FO had ideas to this effect when constructing the team, but they overcommitted w/r/t the lopez decision.
