    Two things:

We were lucky Hart came in and nailed some threes in the first quarter or else we'd be starting the game in a deep hole again.

And why did Lebron think he was Steph Curry down the stretch there?

I'd like to see our perimeter guys go harder on D and not hedge so much now that we have 2 capable shot blockers in the middle. I've been noticing ALL our perimeter guys are hedging and trying to force their man to go a certain direction instead of locking up 1 on 1 and then getting beat and allowing their man to penetrate into the paint.

WMC: Minny hitting ridiculous 3s all night

Other WMC: Terrible execution down the stretch once again on the offensive side of things

Low Key WMC: Lonzo Ball. I guess I'll have to get used to single digit games from him and I'll be ecstatic when he gets 10 points...sad given that his counterparts are all collectively killing it right now....not looking forward to Fox eating up Lonzo on Saturday...

    Two Things:

    1) Kuzma overall nice game, but that wide open 3 that he missed in the final 1-2 minutes of the game to basically put it out of reach and the missed free throw to only keep it a 2 point game in that final possession was terrible. We were a Rose missed 3 away from losing that game and Kuzma missing those shots would have been a big part of the reason why.

    2) The late game execution continues to be hard to watch. Yes, Chandler saved us with those 3 offensive rebounds but Lebron taking deep 3's to end the game is not what I have in mind.

It is weird that we have "the best basketball player on the planet" and yet we still seem to need a closer on the team for the last 4 minutes or so of every game. Can't tell if Lebron is just gassed, or if his age is showing, or he's waiting for someone else on the team to step up, or if he's just not that guy.

I feel like we have to wait for that next, younger superstar for us to get to the next level - AD, KD, Kawhi, whoever.

In the meantime if we want to make the playoffs we have to do a much better job of holding leads/closing out games in the fourth. As nice as it was to at least have Chandler who saved the game for us, he's not an offensive threat and we need someone to hit clutch shots down the stretch. Who will it be on this team? I also criticized Kuzma for not making that three or his free throw. That won't get it done. I feel like the best clutch guy we have is Hart.

@lakerjones I think James is saving himself physically while letting his teammates grow into their roles. I think we'll see him assert more as the season progresses and we're trying to build steam towards the postseason or at least solidify a berth.

I still don't see cohesion at both ends of the floor.

At the risk of sounding like I want people off my lawn, I'm really hating today's NBA. I'll always be a fan, but there's hardly any lockdown defense anymore.

    https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/shooting-pct

Look at the team fg%s this year. The top teams are in the 48-50% range. The worst teams are in the 44% range. Now change the drop down menu as far back as it'll go, 2004. The best teams are at 45%. When you consider how exponentially more 3s teams shoot now, which are at most 40% effective, that means there are a ton more easy two pointers to bring up the overall fg%.

Ridiculous defensive handicapping rules and teams only worried about launching 3s to eventually out score the opponent, with defense as an afterthought has turned the game into a joke imo.

You have Embiid, jokic, and towns all putting up darn near 40/20 tonight. They're all really good, but not that good. 40/20 used to be a big deal. Same with triple doubles. Devin Booker scored 70 points! That's Kobe, wilt, MJ territory. Elite top top top hof territory. Who's booker in the 90's? Craig Ehlo?

Ftas drive up fg%, too. Harden is really an iverson level shooter, as opposed to the ray Allen his stats suggest. Don't get me started on wade, either.

Anyway, I'm all for cracking down on grabbing and holding, but defenders need to be entitled to space on the floor--that's where the modern NBA shoots itself in the foot by improperly enforcing its own rules. Harden is the poster child--so many offensive fouls called the other way...

My Spectrum service is out due to the Woolsey fire destroying a fiber optic cable. Spectrum has no timetable for when it will be fixed.

We have friends in T.O. like a half mile north of the freeway that had to evacuate. That's crazy.

What's tragic is we have friends who have lived up in Paradise for many years with a beautiful house and custom built cars and a great life. Boom house is gone and their daughter and her family's house gone. They are all at son's house now. Cannot even imagine.

News reports say the fire has destroyed 150 homes and it still at 0% containment, so it's still spreading. Winds have calmed down today but will pick up tomorrow. Absolutely crazy.

@LakerFanIam I'm glad to to hear that you and your family are safe.

My Spectrum service is back on in my area. So now I can follow the latest fire updates without my crappy cell service. Oh, and watch Laker games too.
