Better rotations, please. Other than that, I thought we did OK.

So this is not going as planned. No BI for probably two weeks, missed free throws, bs calls for Har’en, missed rebounds, missed defensive rotations especially at the end of the game.

At least one LA team won tonight

    "Free" Throws:

22/29 vs. POR, 7 missed FTs, lost by 9
    - Lose only by 2 if all FTs were made, but same result if FT% were league average.

11/18 vs. HOU, 7 missed FTs, lost by 9
    - Lose by only 2 if all FTs were made, but lose by 7 if FT% were league average.

    NBA League average is 75.6%

By keeping your team within 1-2 possessions +/- you put the pressure on the opposing team.

    This!

30 FTs by Houston too (28 not counting the 2 techs, which means they got 10 more opportunities than we did)...game was in LA, right?

It’s a joke to me that the team that shoots FORTY-TWO three pointers also gets 30 free throws. They shot so many they could afford to miss the 10 they did. Disgustingly officiated game as per usual when it’s Houston, phantom calls for Harden all night, ridiculous calls to get him 3 free throws as well.

Yeah and even if they missed all 30fts, the defenders are handicapped all game afraid to touch them, allowing them to blow right by.

I hate when people say: "I know Harden gets bs calls, but he's still so hard to guard." Um, Mcfly, 90% of why he's hard to guard is defenders afraid to touch him.

Harden is super skilled, and he's slithery. Probably the hardest guy for refs to call, but because of that, it's like they throw in the towel and say eff it, call everything.

I like that they didn't give him continuations though. That was awesome.

He is very skilled. His ability to pull up for 3 is ridiculous and he is quick with good handles. I just don't agree on his fouls being tough to call. To me, even in real time, they are almost all initiated contact by him. There's no grey area there. It has to be NBA manufactured bs.

Here's the best angle I've seen on BI's punch

He might have missed, but I dream of it connecting. :)

Obviously we're still in the brand new phase, but would like to see better D, and make more outside shots.

Seriously, by the end of the game Zo was guarding Harden with his hands behind his back. That’s how afraid of getting fouls called the refs made our players. Earlier in the game some other players were having to resort to similar tactics, I saw Hart back off here and there where normally he’d body a guy up in the post, they were incredibly afraid to keep sending the Rockets to the line simply for touching them. That call on Hart where Harden got 3 free throws was ridiculous. THIS sort of thing is why Ingram shoved Harden and looked like he wanted to murder that ref though, the NBA brought this on themselves with this BS

To start the first 2 games against the 3rd and 1st seed from last year and to get the results we did, is not surprising. I thought we looked good and deep, we just have some things to tune up and we should be fine. Just some more gelling, tighten up the defense. Year 1 is gel period, gets some expirence, hopefully some playoff expierence.

two games against quality opponents, one in their home opener, the other team desperately needed a win after getting drubbed in their own home opener. not a big deal.

here's what's a big deal: two games in, and we don't rebound well enough to play our preferred style. you can't win running and gunning unless you defend and rebound. houston's small and lazy and outrebounded us by 10. we're going to get outshot pretty much every night from distance. we conceded that with our roster construction. we can't get beat on the boards, too. that's death.

but my real wmc is that harden's antics continue to be supported by nba officials. any intelligent observer can see it was their biased treatment that led to the fracas. yes, ingram should restrain himself, but at some point we need to be asking why EVERYONE has to restrain themselves around harden.

both he and paul would get their a**** kicked in a playground game. physically. because of all the s*** they pull on a nightly basis. they hide behind the ref's skirts, and the other team gets punished for retaliating and/or pointing out that the refs are complicit in the acts.

garbage. can't believe this is one of the league's flagship teams.

I can't say anything about the 4th quarter fight that hasn't been said already.

But I'm still not happy about Kuz playing center. From now on, I may simply change the channel whenever McGee goes out. I want to enjoy these games, not be pissed off watching them.

Again, free throws man. Luke needs to mandate everyone shoot 1000 FT every practice.
