i think clarkson's better, and is likely to be better going forward. hip injuries of this magnitude are no joke.

You are clearly right. There isn't much IT can do for being 5'8''.

With that said, he can be so much better than JC offensively that overall he can be a much superior player. I don't want Thomas for the long haul. His style of play with ball domination just doesn't fit Luke's obsession with moving and sharing the ball. But for the rest of the season, I would take some veteran leadership and 15 ppg as a spark off the bench. At least that would somewhat give us what JC did.

Also it would be nice if for a change, a Laker can shoot some 3s and also make a FT if their life depended on it.

That was the worst officiated game I've ever watched. What the f***.

    I'll stop before I get a T.

But also what happened to our D? It's like we forgot what to do ever since the trade.

Look, I realize Nance was a solid defender and did the dirty work, but he wasn’t DPOY. We just gave up 130 to the Mavs and 139 to the Pelicans. WTF, man? I also realize that JC was a major bench scorer for us, but he wasn’t 6th man of the year... What the hell happened to this team? I’m hoping like hell the Cavs draft pick and the expiring contracts of IT and Frye pay off in June and July, because in the meantime we suuuuuuuck, and Boston’s pick is getting better again. I hope Zo coming back helps, but he alone can’t fix this, this is bad. Every time I think we’ve reached a low point we hit a new on. My goodness, Zubac had a dunk absolutely rejected by Grampa Okafor, dude hasn’t been in the league since 2013!

    FML!

And we can't really put it on IT either cause dude clocked in at just under 5 mins of work tonight.

This team needs to stop f***ing around on social media and having 3 point contests at practice. Get in the gym and work on your defensive slides.

It seems like the trade with the Cavs wasn't disclosed completely...

    Lakers get

    IT
    Frye
    1st Round Pick
    Cavs Efense

    for

    JC
    Nance
    Lakers Defense

Our defense has been goddamn AWFUL.

Yeah this isn't really on Nance, Clarkson, or Thomas either because it's the starting lineup that's giving up points.

    These guys are on vacation.

i'm not going to jump to any conclusions on a two-game sample, but the FO doubled down on the cap space plan just when the team was starting to figure it out. this can be impactful psychologically.

Giving up that many points is one thing...if it was the Rockets or Warriors. Giving up those numbers to a toast team (Dallas) and the Pelicans without one of their best players is pretty much unacceptable. Thank god we are close to the all-star break.

These young guys need to FOCUS on their basketball, thats their life.

When I see Ball doing all these rap songs, tv series, big baller tours, signing sessions etc...I wonder like WTF. You are on a 2 week delay for your MCL sprain...how about rehabing to get healthy fast? Making music tours in Lithuania during the summer certainly doesn't improve your wonky shooting motion or unacceptable FG and FT percentages.

Obviously losing JC and Nance hurt us more than we anticipated. Still think it was a good move long term. These guys need to turn it around after the all star break.

much like our other trades, it's only a good move long-term if the cap space yields something better than the players who went out in order to make the cap space happen.

so yeah, george and lebron (or really, either one), and all is forgiven. neither...ick...

I was actually thinking something similar. Seems more chemistry and team psyche related right now than the guys in the trade.

I expect a couple more stinkers before the team gets back locked in

Trading nance and clarkson when we were finally getting it going reminds me of the 99 lockout season. When the team back then was winning then traded Eddie Jones and elden Campbell and the team began to struggle and never really got their flow back. Hoping its the same effect as the following year Lakers won the championship
