I definitely wouldn't trade for Monroe unless all we're giving up is Hill. As this offseason showed, Mitch isn't giving anyone a max contract if they aren't a superstar. Monroe is going to be unrestricted & sign with the first team that offers him a max, & it won't be us unless he takes major steps foward this season.

The C Bags traded for Will Bynum for salary reasons and they're about to cut him. I wouldn't mind picking him up for some additional PG depth.

His stats the past few years seem to indicate that he's a pretty serviceable back-up PG.

    2013: 9.8 ppg, 3.6 apg, 46.9% FG%, 31.6% 3PT% in 18.8 mpg off the bench
    2014: 8.7 ppg, 3.9 apg, 42.8% FG%, 32.3% 3PT% in 18.8 mpg off the bench

Definitely wouldn't mind picking him up.. I'd hope he makes the roster over Ellington but he's also better than Price.

In a heart beat. He's not the best PG in the league, but I think he's better than Price and he can score if you give him minutes

I can' see him being cut as non deep as we are right now. Especially if we consider what Scott said about wanting players that play hard every possession.

We have to have some more depth and Clarkson can always play the SG.

Since Nash is pretty much done, yeah... I'd like Will Bynum on our team. He can be a solid backup.

Bynum is a yes in a heartbeat. A fraction of one.

He's got his problems, but he's an offensive firecracker. We need all the help we can get and that includes veterans like Bynum.

Is it me or does Philly seem flush with bodies and needing to unload someone? Same with PHX at Guard but naturally, with PHX there is no way they give away anyone to LAL. With Philly, what assets do we have at this point?

Harrison Barnes anyone? GSW doesn't seem like they're getting anything out of him and I'm thinking they're gunning for a championship now... I'd love to start him at SF for us

Thats why its so important to try&have some players emerge into tradeable pieces. Lakerfan2 said DPE CANT be combined w/players. how about picks&cashs then? Thatd be the only way we can pull off Barnes which would be a heck yes&perfect for what we need.

Aside from the Randle injury, I think it's readily apparent that we need help at Center.

Hill is too small and Davis is too skinny to deal with the bigger centers in the West.

Unfortunately, there isn't much to choose from for that position.

So true, Nothing out there better than Sacre, they are simply stuck with what they got this season, no team is going to help the Lakers out by even giving them a 3rd stringer.

That's why I think this summer we make a big push for Monroe, Gasol, even DeAndre Jordan. Any of the big men available. I love Jordan, but he's more suited to the PF spot.

Put me on board for Will Bynum if it's at all possible. We need a better offensive PG than Price. It's pretty clear now. I hope that injury exception comes through sooner than later. Sounds like we need to apply for another one for Randle, too.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want Will Bynum. Lol. He'd be an undersized defensive liability and our team really can't afford to have that on defense. He's 31 years old, inefficient on offense, and boasts a high usage rating. What exactly are the positives?

If we get the top 5 pick.. hope we can land the PG Mudiay whose playing in China right now due to looking like hes the most ready to play right away. Okafor/Towns do not seem to be THAT impressive and will need a lot of time before being ready. If the right offer comes along I can easily see us trading it as well.

    Mudiay
    Kobe
    Rookie SF via Houstons 1st
    Randle
    Veteran C

Could easily be wrong, lets see how the year plays out.

Yeah it's crazy early to talk like this, but... more fun than talking about what we're watching on the court.

I'll stand by my earlier statement: if we pick up Mudiay I want to grab Greg Monroe. Really I just like Monroe, but I think that's a slight better fit than picking up someone like Marc Gasol who is older and slower. If we go with Mudiay, we're going with speed and athleticism. Monroe is no burner, but he's more mobile than people give him credit for and he's certainly more mobile than Marc Gasol. Ideally you go after DeAndre Jordan but... I hate that guy and I think he's not the brightest bulb out there.

If we're unfortunate enough to sit through a "top 5 pick" season then I want to end up going into next season with a rock solid young cast. The Spurs seem to be balking at giving Leonard a max contract. I'm not.

    Mudiay/Clarkson
    Bryant/Harrison (via Hou. pick)
    Leonard/Young
    Randle/Kelly
    Davis/vet Center

I'd dig that team a lot. Not a lot of rim protection in the starting lineup, but a lot of good hands and mobility. Off the bench some solid talent. I realize keeping Lin would be rough if he has a decent year, but I'd certainly love to have him back. Him instead of Clarkson at the backup PG would make us a hell of a team.

    If you go big then:
    Lin/Clarkson
    Bryant/Harrison
    Leonard/Young
    Randle/Kelly
    Towns or Okafor/some other guy

I like that team too. Young, athletic, some defensive potential. They'd still be rough to watch, but there'd be a brighter future.

I think I would give Leonard the max as well real. Finals MVP at the young age of 22 and he only seems to be improving. Also, with the cap speculated to increase by quite a bit, due to the new TV deal, I say go for it.
