I honestly am not a huge fan of Splitter... but if we draft a guard/wing and they're willing to give up a pick, we can give them the Houston treatment. We'll take Splitter off your hands for a 1st and 2nd rounder. Thanks!

I would like the Lakers to get 2 between Butler, Gasol, and Monroe. I think you can choose between Monroe and Gasol and then sign Butler too. I think any of those two would be great whether we draft Okafor or Towns. Then I say we still go for Rondo, because between Rondo and Clarkson, one can come off the bench and one can start and that doesn't sound like a bad deal either. After that, re-sign and sign whoever else you can to the little one year deals and call it a day.

If Kevin Love is a real option still, then I'd throw him in there too, but then you have to choose between Monroe, Love, and Gasol, because if you get Okafor or Towns, why sign two big men? But I don't know what Love's situation is, other than I know he still loves LA.

You realize that we don't have unlimited cap room? If we renounce Jordan Hill as expected we have enough cap room to make a legit offer to any one of the first three you named; not two of them.

was wondering today about if Dragic was still in the mix...

3 man backcourt platoon with Goran, Kobe, and Clarkson. Possible with Kobe some at the 3
Randle at PF, Draft a Big
Big man backups of Black and Ed Davis

So many ways the Lakers can go. It will be interesting to see what Mitch puts together. I've seen some people on here float some interesting trade ideas, and the reality is that Mitch has some young talent to put something together along with draft picks that could net decent vets as well. Looking forward to seeing his finished product.

Lest anyone forget, Kobe was leading the league in scoring for awhile last year. He can't run big minutes, but he will be productive. Not a doubt in my mind.

Well with the latest news coming out where Mitch said that they really don't want to take the time to build through the draft I'd imagine our FO is going to seriously look to trade our 27th & 34th pick to either move up or find a nice role player.

If D'Antoni ends up in Denver, rumor is he wants Lin. Use those two picks, Tarik Black (even a future second rounder) and sign and trade Lin for Lawson. Moe Kobe to small forward. Okafor/Randle/Kobe/Clarkson/Lawson. Maybe sign Danny Green to be a defensive wing that can be our starter once Kobe goes down for the season at about game 25.

I like your thinking but golly yall need to chill with the whole kobe getting hurt right away, joking or not.

That lineup isnt bad but id definitely start green to guard opposing teams best defender.

I don't want any of the Nuggets, not after the way they conducted themselves this past year. But since Lawson's name is being thrown around here, I thought I'd drop this in here for further speculation.

No thanks, but I expect this is just more of the typical "The Lakers are interested in..." yada yada that you always here around now.

If Wade leaves Miami, why not go to Cleveland to return the favor?

And why would the Lakers even consider this? Is this their backup plan if Rondo doesn't come here and they still need to find another overpaid has-been to come here and take up cap space?

I'd rather have Wade over Love or Rondo, but that doesn't say much because there are roughly 15 FAs I'd take before Love or Rondo.

Even if they let DJ go, they can't even come close to offering Wade the kind of money the Heat are paying him.

I know, but maybe at that point he's ring chasing. If I were him and I felt like Miami was lowballing me, I might make a move like that. Go to a good team for super cheap just as a middle finger to Riley and the Heat.

I don't know why there would be rumors of him coming to the Lakers, Clippers, or Cleveland...... Wade wants to get paid now because of the money he has had to sacrifice the last 3-4 years or so. He has never been the highest paid player on the Heat in his career. let that sink in for a minute.

If Wade is going to ring-chase, I think the odds are that he'll stay in the Leastern conference.

Atlanta, for example, is in need of a go-to scorer and a starting wing if Carroll leaves. Carroll is a good defender, but the Hawks really need a go-to guy vs the Cavs. Wade can still do that if he keeps himself healthy. The Hawks team-based offense may be able to keep him from having to do too much during the regular season.

That's true. I could see him going to the Hawks and it'd make a great story-line. Wade vs LeBron. Atlanta gets a "real star". I like it.

No. He's injury prone. He has only one season in which he didn't play more than 57 games. And his contract extension kicks in next year. No thanks.
