Saw Rondo hit back to back 3s from the same spot he clanked like 5 in a row last year on seemed like successive possessions that one game when they just left him alone and laughed and said, "go ahead and shoot it chump".

Au contraire. Unlike some other teams who have not the same quality .... we actually have some ballers than can play the 1 and can bring it on defense.

And he's coached one of the (yesterday at age 30 and out until November) self proclaimed absolute best 2 way players in the league in Paula so he has a good reference point. Funny I don't recall Kobe in his later years calling himself and Pau unbeatable like Paula and Clippersnake now slobbering on one another. Now Shaq and Kobe back in the day in their primes .... hell yeah. Rightly compared to how would have been with Mike playing with Wilt.

And ..... "Xs and 0s, we screwed this up" .... coulda had never-won-a-game-W/O-Lebron Lue if we hadn't jerked him around by not giving the 5 year contract worthy of his eminence.

So this is the week! Dodgers playoffs Thursday and Friday, Lakers on Saturday, then Dodgers again Sunday.

    My personal nirvana starts Thursday...

    Backup 4?

    That sounds Waltonesque.

Couple of updates from training camp. I believe this originally came from some of the supporting coaching staff (not Vogel/Kidd).

    1. Dudley and Bradley have impressed the most. Both will likely play key roles in this upcoming season, perhaps bigger than originally anticipated.

    2. LeBron/AD pick and roll is a little underwhelming, as both players seem reluctant to go inside to finish, and instead prefer the perimeter. Davis in particular is "popping" too much and settling for jumpers, while LeBron (understandably) doesn't want to consistently attack the rim and is also settling for jumpshots.

    3. AD at the 4 seems to be causing spacing issues, especially with Rondo in the lineup as well. At this point the Lakers don't think they will have AD close out games at the 4.

If Dudley impresses the most, we're f***ed... unless, it's about him making 3 consecutive trips up and down the court without fainting.

not surprised about dudley and bradley. both experienced team players.

concerned that the lebron/AD pairing isn't dominant in practice. that was supposed to be what carried the offense for long stretches. if they're just going to trade off jumpshots, we'll be a bad (like, really bad) offensive team.

not surprised rondo kills spacing, nor should anyone be surprised that davis will close out games at the 5. it would be lunacy to do anything else, imo.

I find it odd that you would say that Dudley has impressed anybody when he hasn’t done that once in his entire career. And there’s not a peep out of any media reporting the same thing.

But if third stringers are impressing, well then OK. I imagine this changes our entire game plan tremendously.

Not worried about Bron and AD not taking it to the rack. We're talking about practice. AD has already said he isn't interested in load management this season. And it seems like the spirit of competition has brought out the best in McGee and for now Dwight. If they're being extra physical and aggressive (Vogel even got onto the team about fouling at the rim), then I'm not sweating it.

Yuck. I'm just going to write this off as AD and LeBron not wasting their nitros during practice. But I really don't like hearing "Davis" and "settling for jumpers" in the same sentence when you presume this is against our B-team lineup.

Lebron and AD pick and roll should be the bread and butter of this offense.

I hope the coaches are listening to LeBron and AD and not letting them dictate the offense, because players don't always know what's best. That's what we have coaches for.
