    Nice finale to AoS.
Anybody know where Coulson was supposed to be in that last shot? I was reading online that it appears they are now going to be part of an organization called S.W.O.R.D.?

I've read that too, but the director of the episode actually said that Marvel doesn't have the rights to SWORD for some reason (Fox does). SWORD is the space equivalent to SHIELD. It's an outer space organization meant to detect incoming aliens or objects. Think Men in Black meets SHIELD.

I'm not sure that's what this is only because of what the director said. I'm assuming this has to do with the Inhumans crossover as well as the Infinity War set-up. With SHIELD booting back up in the real world, the Avengers can't know about Coulson and his crew because it wouldn't make sense for them not to be involved. Now they're off-planet and unable to be reached... Meanwhile they'll start dealing with the Inhumans in space which will come this fall. That's what I'm figuring anyway.

Any idea why Ghost Rider said to Coulson that he pitied him as a teaser for what is coming?

Coulson is living on borrowed time and is going to die at the end of season 5 (almost definitely the final season given the place ABC put in on the schedule in the fall). Coulson probably promised his soul to the Rider at the end of the series after he's taken care of some business.

Seems like the most dramatic thing to do, but also fits the narrative of what's gone on with this show vs. the movies.

I feel like season 5 will be way bigger in scale and finally play a part in the MCU. I'd like to hear what Ghost Rider was talking about concerning wars and different worlds again.

Not at all. I love SHIELD even with all it's ups and downs. People just weren't talking about it much around here

I thought this last episode was pretty rushed and anticlimactic though.

I agree. I liked the Mack moments but the Aida moments were way too fast. Not to mention the Russian guy.

Aida's death was super quick and anti-climactic. It was like, "I am a super Inhuman with multiple powers and the ability to rule the world. I can't be killed." 20 minutes later...FLAME CHAIN.....fin.

    Yeah that was disappointing.
I'm guessing they went with the drama instead because a) this show has really gotten to understand the value of those moments and b) it's way cheaper to show two actors crying than to show a superpower showdown. :D

I'm still wondering how they will make a non-MCU Venom work without Spiderman. My hope is still Peter Parker = MCU Spiderman, Miles Morales becomes the Sony Universe Spiderman to fight/work with this Venom.

That is what I am wondering too. Do they go the Miles Morales? That is the easiest and probably best solution. From what I understand Tom Holland hasn't even agreed to be spiderman outside the MCU. Sony could be setting itself up for major issues with this if they don't get a good plan together. Perhaps they will make Hardy the anti-hero center of there Spiderverse and roll out R rated movies that feature Carnage and the other symbiotes?

The only reason I think Morales is remotely possible is Sony is releasing an animated Spiderman movie in the theaters that will have the Miles Morales version. I wonder if that's their way to sort of introduce him to audiences.

But the fact that Venom is going to be R, I feel Carnage is on his way. Maybe Sony is just going to go with the "Adult Spiderman Universe" after seeing the results of Deadpool and Logan. Miles Morales will be a more jaded version.

The more I think of about it, the more I really want a venomverse starring Hardy as the anti-hero. Peter Parker could be dead and miles could have taken his place, but let Venom be the protagonist. You could do some really unique and incredible things in that story.

I love me some Venom, but how do you do Venom without Spiderman? But man, if this leads to a future Carnage movie, sweet. These two are some of the better antagonists Marvel has.

Eddie Brock is a deeply conflicted character internally. Through flashbacks you tell the story of how he became venom and how he killed Peter Parker. This haunts him deeply and hr, much like the punisher with an evil side, sets out to make amends. Somewhere along the way Miles comes about as well as Carnage and other symbiotes.
