Nelson Agholor
Agholor has hauled in 10 of his 11 targets, for 185 yards and 3 TDs. He has a perfect Passer Rating When Targeted (PRWT). That's good for a 73.5 grade.

Hunter Renfrow
Renfrow has 22 targets, 17 grabs, 241 yards and a score. He's on pace for career bests in receptions and yards. He has a 121.8 PRWT, and his PFF grade is a solid 72.7.

Bryan Edwards
He's at a surprising 70.6 PFF Grade. Would be great to get the big guy back, as his 118.7 PRWT is solid, and he provided 47 yards after the catch on just five receptions. He's on pace for 17 receptions and 350 yards, but he could push those to 27-430 if he comes back healthy.

Henry Ruggs
Ruggs has been boom-or-bust with only 6 catches on 11 targets, but those catches have gone for 177 yards and a score. That's a monster 129.9 PRWT. He has a 65.4 grade at PFF, and he's trending just 19 receptions but 566 yards and 3 TDs. If he stays healthy, that projects to 28 receptions, 800 yards, and 5 TDs.

Zay Jones
Jones has caught 9 of 12 targets for 81 yards and a TD. This could end up being his second best season, and his 127.7 PRWT is largely responsible for his adequate 62 PFF Grade.

Rico Gafford
Gafford has been targeted only once, and the incompletion has him at a 55 grade on PFF. That's a 39.6 PRWT.

 

Remember this? I love Claypool. I like Edwards a lot, too, but Claypool and Ruggs...what a duo they'd make.

Three thoughts.

According to the Sagarin ratings, the Raiders have played the second toughest schedule so far (Patriots at #1), and they're 2-2 vs. top 16 teams and 2-1 vs. top 10 teams. Holding their own against playoff teams and beating non-playoff teams. Just win, baby.

Previously but still funny: when Peyton Manning was asked what he thought it would be like playing for an empty stadium, he said, "I don't know. You'd probably have to ask someone from the Chargers." BURN.

Bell has not been the same player since his holdout. He average 3.2 per carry last season and 3.9 this season, hasn't had a 90-yard game, let alon a 100-yard game, and he has only 4 TDs in his last 17 games. But to be fair, the Jets absolutely suck and have had no success running the ball the last two years.

 

On thought #2 Melvin Gordon said the same thing.

Sam Young
90.1 on PFF, 81 snaps, 0 penalties, 0 sacks
This is about the best you could ask for when an OL has to fill in.

Richie Incognito
81.4, 74, 1, 0
Incognito has been dominant when on the field. And he's coming back.

Rodney Hudson
66.5, 346 snaps, 1 penalty, 0 sacks
Hudson's numbers are down just slightly, but he continues to be an elite pass blocker.

Trent Brown
65.6, 73 snaps, 1 penalty, 0 sacks
Brown's play is jsut a hair below where it was last year. If he can stay healthy, he's primed for another impressive season.

Kolton Miller
65.0, 346 snaps, 2 penalties, 0 sacks
Three years into his career, I think it's fair to say that Miller will not be the best OT in his draft class, but he's likely to be a ten-year starter who gives solid effort and makes mistakes very rarely.

Gabe Jackson
61.9, 346 snaps, 0 penalties, 0 sacks
Jackson has been a fixture, missing no time, doing good work. He's right where his ranking was last season.

Brandon Parker
59.0, 8 snaps, 0, 0
Limited snaps mean it's hard to make much of these numbers. But the fact that he's getting only 8 snaps with a line that had two Pro Bowl starters out tells a lot. Getting close to the end of the line for Parker.

Denzelle Good
58.6, 328 snaps, 1 penalty, 1 sack
Good has been a solid fill-in. He's allowed one sack and has a penalty, but he's on a bargain contract.

John Simpson
35.7, 128 snaps, 2, 1
The consensus was that Simpson would be overmatched early, and he has been. He surrendered nine pressures in 128 snaps. There's room for hope, of course, but even at his lowest, Kolton Miller was graded in the upper 40s. Simpson has some work to do.

LV Running Game
Carr's 3rd and 7 run was probably the best rushing play of the game.
Okay, maybe it was the Ruggs jet sweep. Nice call, getting the ball into your weapons' hands.
Can't block. Really need all their starters back ASAP.

LV Passing Game
Beautiful opening drive.
Agholor made an excellent catch on that TD. Well thrown ball.
Sam Young - overmatched, blasted back into Brady on the first apparent INT.
Huge pass play to Ingold to set up the Raiders near the end of the half. Jacobs whiffs on a block and it's a huge sack.
Agholor getting deep at will.
Waller for the TD. Another good throw, good catch. Quick decision.
Waller has to get the first down yardage on that 3rd and 4 in the 4th Q. Sets up a FG instead of keeping the driving going, eating clock, and threatening a TD.
That INT was, I thought, a pretty clear Pass Interference. But, off the hands of Agholor and for an INT, and that's game over.

LV Run D
Overall, a solid effort, but the opening drive looked bad.

LV Pass D
Littleton looks lost.
The secondary is missing two starters. It shows.
No push on the line.
I couldn't tell which DE got pressure on Brady to force an incompletion. Hurst, I think.
Gronk outmuscling everybody.
Brady shreds the pass D at the end of the half.
Lawson can't keep up.
Joyner can't keep up.
4th Q: Brady with a 3rd and 13. Converts. Softest zone in history except for a Hail Mary.
Third and 4: converts. Raiders just can't cover.

 

Bad situation, and the Raiders did not handle the adversity well once the 4th Q came around.

DBs, Ranked

Jeff Heath
Heath’s 58.8 PFF grade is the best among all LV secondary players. He’s faring well against the pass, allowing a 45.8 Passer Rating when targeted. In his 130 snaps, he has allowed 3-6 passing, 60 yards, 1 INT.

Damon Arnette
Though he has missed significant time, Arnette’s 58.7 PFF grade is second best in the secondary. Through 149 snaps, he has allowed a 108.3 PRWT. It’s not good enough, but he’s one of the better options for LV this season.

Nevin Lawson
Lawson has started 3 games, playing 90% or more of the snaps in each of those. His PFF grade is 57.5, but he is allowing a 123.6 PRWT, 20 points worse than either of the last two seasons.

Johnathon Abram
A Raiders favorite, Abram’s grades have looked downright bad. He is at 46.3 this season after posting a 42.1 in his sole game last season. His PRWT is, however, pretty good: QBs have gone 8-12, 92 yards, and an INT, for a 54.9 Passer Rating.

Keisean Nixon
Nixon’s 47.5 rating at PFF is not good, and his 106.9 PRWT is not good either. In 14 snaps, he has allowed all three targets to be completed, but they have gone for only 29 yards.

Trayvon Mullen
Mullen’s 7 passes defended are solid, but his 55.3 PFF score is not good, and his 128.4 PRWT is awful (was 78.3 last season). He has missed 17% of his tackle attempts.

Lamarcus Joyner
What a disappointment. Joyner’s PFF grade is 44.4, which is right in line with last season’s grade. He has allowed 24 completions on 34 targets, for 233 yards and a TD. That’s a 99.3 PRWT.

Erik Harris
Harris is an adequate backup pressed into sometimes heavy duty. His 52.1 PFF grade is barely tolerable, and QBs have feasted on him, completing 11-17 passes, 289 yards, and a TD, for a 127.7 PR.

Amik Robertson
After getting burned on his first snap, Robertson hasn’t been bad. His PFF grade is 49.8, and his PRWT is 144.4, but After that, he has allowed 1 completion for 8 yards on two targets, but he's seen only 23 snaps.

Isaiah Johnson
Johnson isn’t playing much, and he’s not doing much. His 35.4 grade at PFF is worst among DBs, and so is his 154.2 PRWT. It was 85.4 last season.

 

Saw that Chargers stat. YIKES.

 

Raiders vs. Browns
Raiders gut out a win in terrible conditions, move to 4-3, and put themselves in 8th or 9th seed, with an allegedly easy schedule. They're in the driver's seat.

Run O
So happy to have Devontae Booker on this team. He does a nice job spelling Jacobs and sometimes softens things up a bit. He had wo big runs in the 1st drive of the second quarter. He finished with 5-29. He's at 6.2 yards per carry on the season.

Ingold picks up a big fourth down coversion on his only carry.

Jacobs able to break a tackle and start churning out yards. 31 carries, 128 yards, with no long runs. It was a long day at work, and Jacobs did a full shift. Easily his best running day on the season, and he's on pace for about 1200 yards and 10 TDs on the season.

Richard with a hard run, too. Just 1-6 on the day, but that's his job.

Jacobs and Carr keep the running game going late, seemingly gaining momentum as the game wore on. Carr had 6-41 on the day. Not only was that his best day rushing on the season; he's now up to his second most yards rushing in any season, and he's on pace to smash his career best.

Pass O
Bad weather, neither team threw effectively, but Carr made a beautiful downfield toss over the middle to Witten.

Miller got beaten big time on a near sack. Carr somehow recovered. Then Miller got pushed back and Young couldn't hold off his defender on the Carr sack. I'm not sure who will get "credit" for the second Carr sack, but Young was pushed back again.

Booker with a determined run on that screen, nearly picked up the 18 they needed.

Pretty throw and catch to Ruggs on that clear TD. Shame they ruled him out. Ruggs's line looks poor: 2-8 on 4 targets, but his other two pass plays were a TD taken away and a play where he was open and overthrown. Keep targeting the man.

Richard converts a big third and 4, putting LV in FG position to end the half.

Beautiful one-handed grab by Waller, another toss to Waller, and a Renfrow TD complete the only official TD drive of the game. Waller converted 5 of 6 targets for 28 yards and Renfrow went 4-4, 26, and a TD.

Hudson may end up being dinged for the first sack surrendered. He blocked up the line and Carr held hte ball a long time. But the facemask on the sack might undo that.

Special Teams
The wind was insane on Carlson's miss.
He nailed enough to win though. 3-4 on the day.

Punting = looks good. Renfrow = solid return. Richard = bad KOR.

Run D
Abram got blown back on a Hunt run, but he still managed to shed the block and recover for the tackle. Hunt had a solid day, but it was his third fewest rushing yards on the season.

Great penetration by Hankins, Morrow buries Hunt for a loss. Morrow picks up the only TFL on the team from Sunday.

Pass D
I don't know what Lawson was doing on Mayfield's boot. Trying to get back to cover someone, I guess, but he ran away from Mayfield and gave up about 8 yards.

Kwiatkoski has been big for the Raiders - forced a fumble, Morrow picked it up. Kwiatkoski also had a near INT and tied for the team lead with 5 tackles.

Third and 1, Littleton blows coverage, misses a tackle, and surrenders a huge reception to Njoku. Littleton did have five tackles today.

Abram closed in a hurry on a blitz on third and 15, forced an early and incomplete throw on a screen. Abram had four solo tackles.

Pressure looks non-existent. A total of 1 QBH - from Chris Smith. In 2 games, he has only 30 snaps, but he has 2 QBH and a sack.

Slippery field. Kwiatkoski falls, Lawson gets juked. Lawson had 5 tackles and a PD.

Joyner had a batted ball and a bone-crunching hitt on Landry on Cleveland's last drive. Big ups to him. Joyner had the only other PD on LV.

 

Myths dispelled (so far)...

- Carr can't win in Arrowhead.
- Carr can't win in cold, bad weather.
