    Interesting.

Would you trade Renfrow for a 2nd? How about a 3rd? What about a 4th?

2nd but realistically it would be for a 3rd.

I'm with you. I think he's worth a 2nd, but if I'm another team and I see Renfrow sitting there, I think I can get him with a third.

Alex Bars OL is back. This means that the Raiders have probably improved at another position.

Bars is a depth signing IMO. Can never have enough of that to protect our QB.

    Draft is coming up, so...

    Mock Draft at PFN

    Round 1
    Pick 7
    1. Anthony Richardson is on the board. We're taking him.

    Round 2
    Pick 38
Washington is offering pick 47 and Charles Leno. It's tempting, but it's a ton of money for Leno. And Michael Mayer is on the board. Raiders fans might not like this, but I'm grabbing that TE.

    Round 3
Jack Campbell is on the board. We have an offer from the Vikings. I don't love it, but I really like Campbell.

    Pick 100
RB, LB, WR at the top of the list of plyaers available. Also an OT. Tempting. It comes down to either Ivan Pace Jr., who's a MIKE backer or Carter Warren, OT from Pitt. I think I'm going with Warren.

    Round 4
    Pick 109
RB, LBs, and WRs high on the board of players available. I'm going to grab Ivan Pace here as he's still available.

    Round 5
    Pick 141
Top on the board: RB, DT, S, Center. We can use a DT, so I'm grabbing Byron Young from Bama.

    Pick 144
The Titans are offering a trade. I'll take it (Our 144/231 for their 147/186).

    Pick 147
We'll take Myles Brooks, CB, Louisiana Tech

    Pick 174
TE, DT, LB, Edge, CB at the top of the list. We'll take the CB. Garrett Williams, Syracuse.

    Pick 186
DT? Edge? LB? Or get some offensive depth? Late in the draft, I think LBs, Gs, TEs, WRs, and DBs are good picks. They tend to be versatile enough to contribute on special teams if they can't become starters. With that in mind, I'll grab Dorian Williams, LB, Tulane.

    Pick 204
I like Juice Scruggs for depth on the o-line.

    Pick 214
Time for a DB. Anthony Johnson Jr., Iowa State.

    Pick 220
I'll sneak in an offensive skill player here with Deneric Prince, Tulsa. Running Back.

    Positional
    OFFENSE
QB Anthony Richardson: possible franchise QB
TE Michael Mayer: best TE in the draft
RB Deneric Prince: I might regret this one, but if he can become a special teamer, perfect.
OL Carter Warren - possible starter at T, Juice Scruggs - backup Center who can hopefully help at Guard

    DEFENSE
LB Jack Campbell - average starter inside, Ivan Pace - special teams contributor, possible starter, Dorian Williams - possible will backer
DT Byron Young - rotational player with starting upside
CB Myles Brooks - special teamer/press cover, Garrett Williams - good backup/possible starter, Anthony Johnson Jr. - safety/nickel

Build the trenches and the defense. No names in particular pick wise.

Ive never been huge on college football or the draft. I kinda follow in the background and get a lot of info from Trodge's breakdowns.

Optically, I would love us to build the Defense up. I know we have had some solid pre-draft work with some signings but we need another pass rusher to help Maxx put pressure on the QB's. Would like to see them shore up that D.

We need to get a solid QB because Jimmy G isnt a long term solution though I do believe he is going to thrive with this team.

overall I want us to actually have a productive draft especially in the early rounds unlike so many bad ones of the past.

First rounder: possibly the bookend we need across from Crosby.

    Tyree Wilson
Comparisons: Chandler Jones, Matt Judon, Carlos Dunlap, Ezekiel Ansah.
Those players combined to average 140 games played, ~80 AV in their careers, and some of them are still adding to those numbers. In their first five seasons (length of a rookie contract), none had fewer than 34.5 sacks, all eventually became Pro Bowl players.

What he is now: He could be trusted to start, but the Raiders might rotate him.

What he could be: Some think he's better suited to not being a stand up, edge rusher. He still gets sacks from the DE spot. He still has the body to flash in the run game. He's a possible Pro Bowler.

Biggest Strength: size - 6'5 or 6'6', 266-271 pounds, 33 5/8" arms, 86" wingspan. His height and arm length are in the 95+%.

Biggest question: How is that ankle? If it's good, then the next question is how quickly he can develop his strength.

Big stat: 32 TFL and 17 sacks in his college career.

Rookie Thoughts: He'll get reps as a rookie, probably Ferrell's ~500 ish. He'll struggle at times, especially in the run, but he'll provide some big plays, too. Raiders fans should be happy.

I took Mayer at 38 in my mock draft. Raiders land him at 35. Great pick. Best TE in college. Baby Gronk!

I took Young at 141 in my mock. He’s on the Raiders, just a lot earlier.

100th pick: Tre Tucker is really fast. He's a good kickoff returner who could also do some punt returning.

    Michael Mayer
Comparisons: Jason Witten - repeatedly. Mark Andrews, Tyler Eifert.
Witten is one of the greatest TEs of all time. 271 games, 116 AV, perennial PB player, some all-pros, too. On his rookie contract (5 years), he racked up 37 AV, 4 PBs, and 1 AP1. Andrews is still counting, but he has 77 games and 42 AV over five seasons, to go with 3 PBs and 1 AP. Eifert was another Notre Dame player. His career was derailed by concussion (74 games), but in his first five seasons, he had 13 AV and a Pro Bowl, including a 52-615-13 TD season.

What he is now: He's ready to step on the field and start.

What he could be: A good to very good TE who earns Pro Bowl honors, possibly repeatedly.

Biggest Strength: Complete TE. He has great hands, good body frame, had the second highest blocking grade by a TE according to PFF, and he has done it while being schemed against by opposing DCs.

Biggest question: Rookies struggle with consistency. He'll be good, but how long will that consistency take to arrive?

Big stat: 138 receptions, 1649 yards, 16 TDs over final two seasons.

Rookie Thoughts: He could be the best TE on roster. He's a football player, who's basically a better Foster Moreau (I think that's high praise). He'll win over Raiders fans quickly.

What the draft does for the depth chart so far...

    DE
    Crosby 96
    Jones 74
    Willis 69
    Willis 55
-Willis (the new one, not the veteran we signed) should be third best DE from day 1.

    Tight End
    Mayer 71
    Hooper 70
    Howard 55
    -Mayer is already the TE1.

    DI
    Nichols 69
    Young 60
    Tillery 57
-Young probably grades out higher than Tillery. Not bad.

    Tre Tucker
Comparisons: Mecole Hardman, Calvin Austin III, Tyler Lockett
In four seasons, Hardman has 57 games, 23 AV, and a Pro Bowl (plus All-Pro 2nd teams), mostly as a returner, where he's great. Calvin Austin was drafted 138th and didn't play a snap last season. Tyler Lockett has 127 games, 70 AV, a Pro Bowl, and 3 All-Pro seasons under his belt - mostly as a returner early in his season. Both Lockett and Austin had far more impressive counting stats in college than Turner, but Hardman was a much better comparison. He may have to earn offensive snaps with elite special teams play - which he could deliver.

What he is now: Special teamer - a returner.

What he could be: He could become a back-end rotational/slot receiver.

Biggest Strength: It's not his 40 time (4.4), but that's excellent. It's his 10-yard ability, which was in the 94th% in the Combine. He can accelerate like few others.

Biggest question: At maybe 5'9" and with a small frame, will he be able to earn enough reps - special teams or otherwise - to stay on roster?

Big stat: Averaged 24.9 yards per kickoff return, taking 2 of his 67 career attempts to the house.

Rookie Thoughts: He has to make special teams his calling card, gain strength, and be impeccable with his routes in order to stay on the team.

I think he's a big swing. If he hits, he's a Pro Bowl returner. If not, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make the roster this season.
