At least he'll do EXACTLY what McDaniels wants.Well, Ziegler better strengthen the O-Line. Spend the draft picks on a future QB and on defense.

QB, OL, LB, secondary. I wouldn't mind a DI either. That defense needs work.

thanks for putting the stats out there. I still think Carr has the ability to be a top 5 QB but I don't think he has true killer instinct to do it. We have benefited from some outstanding offensive plays made by receivers and RBs. Im really wondering about how lethal was Jimmy G's offensive weapons were. I mean DCarr this season had the best WR and RB in the entire NFL on his team. That is literally like Shaq and Kobe not winning. Do we know what their Red Zone offensive stats are? Id have to imagine Jimmy G has better stats there because frankly Carr sucked a** in the redzone his entire career with the Raiders. I think with the weapons we have we don't need a superstar QB. We need a smart QB who can extend plays and not underthrow every wide open receiver we have.

Think about the lateral move with this team. Our QB1 didn't show up when we needed him most. Can Jimmy eat up clock when defense gets a stop? Can we get 7 points in the redzone instead of 3 all the time? We weren't "pieces" away from being a serious playoff team. We were serious "plays" away from it.

Derek Carr was 25-59, 175 yards, 11 TD, 2 INT in the red zone. He was 26th-ranked.
Garoppolo was 26-43, 183 yards, 12 TD, 1 INT in the red zone. He also ran for two TDs in the red zone. He was 19th-ranked.

Shocked at how bad Carr's completion % is. That's why you can't score. Too many missed opportunities. His TD rate is excellent, but Jimmy G's numbers were head and shoulders above him.

That's my thought on this. Two players can be basically as good as one another, but one can just be a better fit with the other pieces around them. One thing Garoppolo has going for him is one of the highest completion %s ever. He has the third best in NFL history and the second best among active QBs. Carr is definitely accurate, but an additional 3% completions is basically one more converted pass per game. Those add up.

Thanks Trodgers for the info. I am actually surprised Carr has that many TD's in the Redzone over his career. I have more faith in him being 20-30 yards out than him being in the Redzone. I also remember at least 3 fumbles out of the endzone on run attempts by him. His accuracy has been one of my biggest problems watching the games. I have said this team should be putting up 30+ a game with the weapons. If Jimmy G is even a fraction accurate we are already much improved going into the season.

I don't know why I didn't have Renfrow in here...

    WR Adams 95
    WR JAKOBI MEYERS 76
    WR Renfrow 63
    WR Turner 24

That's solid. Almost certainly means no Hollins though.

That's just last season, by the way. And it surprises me how any TDs he threw. But Mahomes threw 34! Carr was tied for 19th in red zone TDs last season.

I also add that if Jimmy is a lateral move and we should of won more games if we simply executed better then him coming in at 67 mil/3 year deal (34 mil guaranteed) is way better than paying DC 40 mil this year to choke when it matters.

I think Mack forces himself into the action. I think the kid is actually pretty special. Very underrated player I think.

Inside DL to collapse and pressure. Rooks from last year needs to step up.

    - Moreau and Hollins are just about gone. Latter was also a special teams ace who wanted a multi-year deal.
    - Jakob Johnson should be back.
    - reports are the rookie TE class is strong.
    - Masterson could develop.

Could we keep leads? It seems like every game has come down to the last plays.
