Just saw that Parham is working at C and Letherwood is working at T so far in OTAs.

James to Guard? Or maybe it's just reps to be a ready backup. James did improve as last season wore on...

Not sure. I read they don't like James's (lack of) size at C.

    Tight End
    Darren Waller
Injuries and adjustments made things hard for Waller last season. Still, he managed 55 receptions, 665 yards, and 2 TDs. In his past three seasons, he has established himself as a top 5 - at worst - TE in the NFL. Reports today his agent is working on an extension.

    Foster Moreau
Moreau has started 20 games with the Raiders, appearing in 46 since being drafted in 2019. Last season was his most involved in the passing game. His 44 targets went for 373 yards, 16 1st downs, and 3 TDs. It was also the first time his PRWT was below 118. Moreau is the real deal, was a great draft selection, and he's penned in at #2.

    Jacob Hollister
Hollister entered the league with New England, had two successful seasons with Seattle, and then played with Jacksonville last season. With Seattle, he caught 65 passes for 558 yards and 6 TDs. He isn't an especially dynamic receiver though, posting passer ratings consistently below average. He's also a special teams contributor and a veteran, both of which likely help his stock.

    Nick Bowers
Bowers joined the Raiders from PSU, saw some snaps on offense and special teams last year but was not targeted. He's probably on the bubble. Will have to hold off one of the rookies below him.

    R-Cole Fotheringham
Fotheringham never carved out a big receiving role, and he missed a ton of games at Utah. His final two seasons saw him play just 12 games, grab 19 balls for 180 yards and 0 TDs. He did have some highlight plays though - a pancake block on a TD run, a hurdle of a defender, and a leaping grab for a TD. More of a blocker.

    R-Travis Koontz
Koontz is listed at 6'4, 255, but he looks smaller. He lined up split out pretty regularly at Texas Tech. He also became more dynamic in each of his three seasons, starting with 10 receptions for 152 yards and finishing his junior campaign with 21-306-4.

Denzelle Good retires. That's a bit of a blow.

man... can't wait to see what these boys do. There is no excuse for this offense this year especially if the blocking gives carr some time. Really curious what the offensive calls will be. We have been so damn predictable the last few years.

We'll see Boss. Cautiously optimistic. I like the running back by committee approach we have. Still iffy about our O-Line on the right side. Defensively, we need depth at linebacker.

Toughest division in the NFL. Right? These teams are going to eat their own. Can't see anyone sweeping the divisional games. I'll do a deep dive into the schedule soon. My early thoughts are that all four teams could win at least 9 games.

After two games, I have some thoughts on these WRs.

DJ Turner is the real "riser" for me. He was able to create separation, made good grabs, did something with the ball in his hands. A TD and a 26-yeard punt return help his stock. I think Johnson's return gig is in jeopardy. Demarcus Robinson made one (maybe two) tough, contested grabs as he fights for a spot.

I think Bolden won't make the cut. There's too much talent. McCormick suffered an injury and is out for the season. Ameer Abdullah is worth mentioning here. He's coming off his best season since 2017. Not an effective runner, he did grab 35 passes for 272 yards. It's also worth mentioning Austin Walter, who showed some wiggle as a runner.

I think Jacobs, Drake, and White are locks. After that, it depends upon how many RBs McDaniels wants to keep around.

Also, among the top 100 in the NFL (vote by peers):
    Derek Carr 65
    Chandler Jones 62
    Maxx Crosby 59
    Darren Waller 58

    Adams?

    Raiders' Cuts
Color me surprised on at least one of these.

    OUT Nate Brooks CB
    -Not too surprising.

    OUT Vernon Butler DT
-Didn't seem to offer much upside.

    OUT Demarcus Robinson WR
-I was interested, but I guess he didn't show enough. Or it could be that other WRs are just pushing too hard.

    OUT Gerri Green Edge
    -Not a surprise.

    OUT Tyrone Wheatley OT
-Another season without a gig for Wheatley?

About the Robinson cut, Johnson and Turner had shown more. I didn't think they threw passes his way much either.

    BACK from PUP
    Hankins DT
    Mullen CB
    Nichols DT
    Stoner WR

OUT Tyree Gillespie WR (Traded for conditional 7th-rounder from Tennessee, 2024)
    IN: Jordan Jenkins DE
    OUT: Kenny Young LB

Good to see those guys back from PUP. I don't see Stoner making the roster, but we'll see. Jenkins was solid as recently as two years ago. So, here's hoping he can conjure up that speed.

In two days, NFL teams must cut rosters by 5. Raiders have some decisions to make.

    Disorganized thoughts from the game.

    Offensive Line
Eleumenor looks like our tackle for now.
Cotton/Leatherwood allow way too much pressure - sack.
Cotton missed a block on a pull play, led to a TFL.
    Leatherwood allows another QB hit.
Leatherwood is strong though. He chucked a rusher to free up Garbers on the QB's long run.

    Other Offense
-Garbers definitely offers a running skill out there, but, like many rookies, he holds the ball too long.
Had two great runs, but he took two bad sacks.
-Jesper Horsted showed up well. Smallish TE, but he made some nice catches in traffic.
    -Brittain Brown looked good.

    D-Line
-Tashawn Bower started showing up. I wouldn't be surprised if he secures himself a roster spot.
-Tagavailoa (Notre Dame guy) looked bad trying to cover a RB in the flat (but why should he do that??). On the plus side, he forced a bad throw from Teddy Bridgewater on a third and ten. Almost came up with a sack on third down in the 4th q.

    DBs
-Curtis Bolton - picked up a safety. Good closing speed. Small LB.
-Abram looked ready to play. Nice blitz to force a bad screen play. Huge hit to separate the ball from the receiver on a third down.
-Watching Amik Robertson. The guy can't seem to do right consistently. Had good coverage on a kind of sideline flare, but the gave up at the last minute, pulled up, and the WR hauled it in for a long gain. Weird play.
-Sam Webb laid the lumber on a RB in pass covrage, forced what was ruled incomplete, but it was obiously a catch, fumble, and LV recovery. Might have been a TD return for Webb, too. Bad call.

    LBs

Darien Butler made a splash play early with a blitz off the edge and a TFL. But he also missed multiple tackles in the game.

Not sure any of these are surprises excpet for Drake, though the writing was on the wall.
