Adams to the Jets for a conditional third rounder?

Three seasons, 37 games, 221 receptions, 2869 yards, and 23 TDs. A Pro Bowl and a first-team All-Pro. We got Adams for a 1st and 2nd rounder. And we may get back a third. Jets will foot the bill. I don't quite want to say good riddance, but we haven't had WRs happy to be here in a long while. Even Renfrow ended on a sour note.

 

It's just another season of unfulfilled expectations. Rodgers said at a golf outing that he is looking forward to having Adams on his team again. Means this has been brewing for awhile now.

 

I like the trade, honestly. It's at least a third. Low possibility it will be a 2nd. And we gain some cap space.

Maybe this will be Bowers's coming out game. These are two bad teams, but they could put up some offense today.

 

AOC possible broken thumb. That could be a six week or longer injury.

Minshew comes in, turns it over twice, and the Rams score two TDs in less than 2 minutes of game time. Yikes!

 

That said, Bowers is balling.

Minshew has been atrocious. He can't elevate other players on his own. I would not have minded Wilson who was really good last night. He probably never considered us given that Pittsburgh has an established coach, playmakers in Harris and Pickens not to mention a proven solid defense.

Ryan Tannehill could be an upgrade over Minshew.

 

I was looking at the FAs and saw Tannehill. Thought the same thing.

 

Hey, Raiders are signing Desmond Ridder off a practice squad. Started last season, went 6-7, below average QB. But he can run, and he's young.

Mahomes is 10-2 in his career vs. the Raiders. He has thrown for 30 TDs and 3573 yards, both his best numbers against any team in the NFL. I'd be shocked if any of that script changed today.

 

So, we're about the fourth or fifth worst team in the NFL right now.

 

Another game with a Minshew turnover. We had our chances which we as usual wasted.

This could be an opportunity for the Raiders' run game to get going. The Bengals flat out suck against the run.

 

Awful. Hope Minshew doesn’t take another snap all season. No sense.

Tom Pelissero says it could be Scott Turner (passing game coordinator) who gets the nod at OC.

Scott Turner as OC:
Washington was really bad on offense with Alex Smith (CPOY), Haskins, and Kyle Allen in 2020.

They were better in 2021 with Taylor Heinicke, Fitzpatrick, and Garrett Gilbert. Antonio Gibson ran for 1000 yards.

And they were a league average offense in 2022 with Taylor Heinicke, Carson Wentz, and Sam Howell. The run game was good with Gibson and Brian Robinson.

 

No option to give your post six billion likes. We have a snowball's chance in hell of getting of Ben Johnson so maybe Zac Robinson?

 

Norv Turner signed on as an offensive assistant. I imagine this means his kid is getting the promotion.

Norv Turner was OC with Minnesota (2014 and 2015) and Carolina (2016-2019)
His teams were just above average in yards, slightly more above average in points, and well above average in giveaways (in a good way).

 

Bye Check In
I had the Raiders with at least 3 wins by the Bye. But I also had them losing three straight heading into the bye. I said they needed to start 3-2 to have a shot at a winning season. We see how that played out.

Basically everything I said to look out for in terms of records has been a disappointment.

Pierce won't win 10 games, and he may not win 5.
After averaging nearly 100 yards per game over his final four of 2023, he hasn't totaled more than 50 yards in a game this season. At 2.9 yards per carry, he's been a massive disappointment.

Davante Adams may not hit 100 catches, but he definitely won't do it with the Raiders. I did suggest he'd be traded though, so I was right on that.

Lastly, I said kickoffs would be fun to watch. The Raiders have returned just 9 kickoffs on the season, none for more than 35 yards. Boo.
