Read somewhere that we are high up in pressures, just can't get home to the QB...

Sunday? We beat ourselves. Crucial drops (Agholor) and a blown coverage (Abrams) that led to the deciding score. Abram will/should learn from this. Still sick about it.

We were missing Ferrell, Joyner and Littleton who are keys to our last victory against KC.

HAVE TO bounce back against Atlanta...regain our mojo and not have the rest of the season spiral out of control like last year.

I'll do a quick comparison between the Raiders and other teams on those measures and get back to you.

Sunday was such a great atmosphere. LVR go toe-to-toe with the the defending champs, win one and lose one. They're right there.

Offense: Agholor and Ingold - FOUR drops.
Defense: Could not establish the edge. I'm looking at Crosby and, to a lesser extent, Morrow. Go back and watch the highlights and see how Reid outschemed the Raiders, knowing that Crosby crashes inside too much.

I've looked at 10 teams so far. The Raiders have the second fewest QB Hits, the fewest sacks, and so far the lowest Rush Quality and Relentless scores (but this doesn't include pressures yet). BTW, Tennessee's numbers are almost identical to LV's. Pittsburgh's are off the charts.

    - letting Brentson Buckner go...starting to hate that move.
    - Ingold's drops. Somewhat understandable since he's the fullback.
    - Agholor's drops. Trying very hard not to get irked since he's pulling down TD's.
    - Reid outschemed us. Yes because he had the bye. Always against us.
    - should have been Claypool instead of Bowden.
    - MUST go 4-2 here on out to even have a chance to make it to the postseason.

    Worst Relentless Scores
-Just a measure of how many pressures + hits + sacks (so, sacks are double counted) per snap.

    Detroit 18.0
    New York Jets 18.0
    Cincinnatti 19.1
    Tennessee 19.1
    Jacksonville 19.2
    Green Bay 20.5
    Houston 20.7
    Las Vegas 21.4

So, the Raiders are 8th worst. Arizona, with Buckner, is at 26.4. That's 11th best. Chicago (Mack) isn't much better off than the Raiders - they're at 21.7.

    Here's another stat: HEAT
It's the number of pressures and hits divided by dropbacks.

Pittsburgh leads the way with 62%.
Las Vegas is at 34%. Here are the worst:
    Tennessee 30%
    Jets 30%
    Detroit 31%
    Cincinnatti 31%
    Green Bay 32%
    Cleveland 32%
    Jacksonville 33%
    Las Vegas 34%
    Carolina 34%
    Houston 34%

So, the Raiders are tied for 8th worst.
    Arizona: 41%
    Chicago: 35%

QBs face serious pressure on only about 1 in 3 dropbacks when facing the Raiders. QBs don't face serious pressure in only 1 in 3 dropbacks vs. the Steelers. That's insane.

Yep, disappointing. Calling it now, 9-7 on the outside looking in. Just don't have the trust on this team.

Atlanta who got beaten down last week, terrible defensively and don't have star wide-out Jones? No excuse. This does not happen to good teams aspiring to move up.

Watched highlights so you don't have to revisit the game.

    Offense
First drive showed what kind of day it would be. Targeted Renfrow short of the first on third down, and Jacobs just stopped running on fourth. I put that first drive's failure evenly on every player on offense.

2nd possession: Waller couldn't handle the rush, Carr stripped.

3rd possession: slow, bad execution on screen. Three and out.

Best sequence of the game for the Raiders: Renfrow busts one on a screen and Ruggs makes a spectacular catch to end the first quarter with promise.

2nd Q: 2nd and goal, Jacobs or Carr - one of them went the wrong way. Holding on Miller anyway. Illegal hands to face, Parker. Miserable mental failure.
Next drive, Raiders start putting something together. Convert three first downs, drive inside the 30 of Atlanta. Parker blows a block, Carr sacked and loses it.

3rd Q: couldn't tell what happened on the INT. Carr threw behind Renfrow, but his arm may have been hit.
Raiders come right back and drive to the Falcons' 6. Ruggs drops a pass he needs to catch. Pass protection fails on the next two plays. Down 20, Raiders kick a FG. It's a head scratcher.

    I couldn't watch after that.

    Defense
    1st Q
Morrow got good pressure on a pass Ryan stood strong on.
Mullen huge play to stop the drive.
Arnette and Abram combine for a big stop.
Isaiah Johnson missed tackle, but he broke up a pass on the next play to spring an INT for Abram.

2nd Q: Raiders send 3 on a third and 5, Ryan has all day, and converts. Terrible pass rush bailed out by Kwiatkoski's beautiful sack. Mullen and Heath break up a pass in the endzone.

Ryan exploits the soft zone, Falcons get a FG. All that said, it's a two score game at the half though the Raiders have done nothing at all.

    Special Teams
Look - the roughing the kicker was huge BS. Went from a 6-3 game with the Raiders having the ball to 13-3.

    Biggest Pros
Nice to see Ruggs get involved in the game early.
Kwiatkoski is the biggest add to this team.

    Biggest Cons

Play in the trenches on pass plays was horrible. O-line was dreadful there. D-line got no pressure.

Thanks @trodgers for the ugly details. Looking at the ticker tape, I saw 3-6, 3-13, 3-23...then just did not care. Game was not televised here in SoCal.

I see the turmoil in Tampa Bay, the zombie squads in Detroit and Chicago, the struggles of the more ballyhooed 49ers, the Eagles, the Cowboys just to see our crew in positive light. Still tough to digest yesterday. They did not lay just an egg yesterday but it was the size of a pterodactyl's.

Hangover over the close loss to the Chiefs, but that is on Gruden and staff (Carr as well) to pick them up... Looks like they did not. Sad.

What's most frustrating is that we were sitting at 6-3, then we played KC to the last snap, only to get absolutely destroyed like we didn't belong on the field. 6-5 can become 11-5, but it can also become 7-9. I'm looking for the playoffs here, boys.

Wide Receivers, Ranked Top to Bottom

Agholor is on pace for 42 reception, 723 yards, and 9 TDs. He has a 69.5 grade on PFF.
He has a 124.7 passer rating when targeted, and is doing most of his damage before the catch. 13.4 yards per reception come before the catch, while only 3.8 come after.
The good and the bad with him are clear: he runs deep routes, makes some tough catches, and he drops a lot of balls. That's why he has the fifth highest drop rate and the third highest target quality rating in the league, according to Player Profiler.

    Renfrow
is on pace for 55 receptions, 740 yards, and 3 TDs. He has a 77.5 rating on PFF.
He has a 121.2 rating when targeted and is averaging 6.9 yards after catch per reception. In 121 career targets, he has 1 INT.
Renfrow eats up short targets (his 8.2 average target distance is 93rd among qualified WRs). He has the 9th best catch rate and 5th best true catch rate in the league.

Jones's 64.8 rating on PFF has him on pace for 17 reception, 157 yards, and 1 TD. His 118.9 passer rating when targeted is solid, and he has two broken tackles on only 12 receptions. He has hauled in his only two red zone targets on the season.

    Edwards
is on pace for only 12 receptions and 190 yards. He has a 69.8 grade on PFF. He has a 112.3 passer rating when targeted. He has some promise to his game, but we need to see a lot more before we start projecting the kind of player he could be. Hopefully, he starts by staying healthy.

Ruggs is on pace for 25-454-2 and has a high 50s grade on PFF. Pedestrian numbers, even for a rookie. One of the reasons for his relatively low 100.5 passer rating when targeted is drops. He has two of them, and he also runs long routes that often don't connect. On the plus side, Ruggs's speed is noteworthy. He has the 4th best target separation and 5th best average cushion in the league. You could argue that his rushing numbers and more games played make him a bigger benefit to the team so far than Edwards, but Ruggs has to improve his efficiency in all aspects of the game.

    Gafford 53.8

Raiders with a second and 7. Incomplete on a play where Carr should have run. Incomplete. Punt.

Carr is terrible under heat in the pocket. Raiders end up moving only two yards. Get a FG, down 3.
