I saw an article saying that Telesco doesn't deserve credit for drafting Herbert because he was the QB who fell.

Honestly, that's asinine. The Raiders have had great players fall to them repeatedly and make bad decisions. Sometimes, you just have to pull the trigger on the best available. If Telesco can do that early in the draft, we're already a better team.

Yes, GM and HC not joined at the hip where the latter is not controlling the former but more of a working relationship bouncing ideas off each other. Reminds me of McKenzie and Del Rio somewhat. Mayock was Gruden' puppet most of the time. Same with Ziegler with McDaniels. Davies did not want rooks at both positions.

A Charger fan commented that Telesco bought groceries for a chef(s) that can't cook.

I think this analogy is, while weird, a good one. You look at the dudes he brought in and you'd say "on paper" those are all (if not most) we would have taken. I can bring you the best steak in the world but if you burn the damn thing it might as well been a rat burger.

The Chargers were playoff favorites for the last several years by the "experts" which means on paper they had a squad that could compete. Injuries and horrible coaching killed them. Tom can't be blamed for how the products are used once he gives them to, as the analogy stated, the chef.

That's how we do it as fans and sensationalizing journalist. Its easy to diminish what people have done. Hell, just look at how many have declared AOC nothing more than a backup. Why? Because all of the great (perceived) young mobile QBs available especially on the heals of CJ in Texas.

From what Telesco has shown is that he is a great evaluator of talent and filling a roster. I really want to see what he, Champ and Ap do for the offensive line.

We have an OC, lads. Welcome, Kliff Kingsbury. From the Red Raiders to the Raiders. Nice.

Man they are putting a squad around AP. On paper this looks amazing. Mark and Co are really trying to make us into something special.

I didn't want to gloss over this, but when the site was down, I forgot to come back - Marvin Lewis as assistant head coach? Love it.

They also added Hue Jackson? I hope this doesn't become a case of "two many cooks in the kitchen" during the season. Pierce should stand his ground.

I hear no one wants him. Dude was hated by everyone which is why he wasn't getting any (or much) interest. Not sure who we picking but I think now they wait for after the superbowl to interview the dude from SF.

    Getsy's Coaching Profile
2011 at IUP - ran the ball a lot. 2 RBs had 100+ carries, and the team had more than 400. Team threw 182 passes. Massive Rush to Pass preference.

2017 at Mississippi State: team ran 49 times per game, threw 27 passes per game. Had a dual threat QB who threw for 1800 yards and ran for nearly 1000. Massive rush to pass preference.

2019-2021 - after a down year for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack, the team went on a tear with Getsy running the offense. The team went 39-10 with a 2-3 record in the playoffs. They threw the ball an average of 34.5 times per game, while running the ball 26.5 times per game. Getsy was QB coach in 2019, was promoted to passing game coordinator and QB coach in 2020. They threw the ball more than they ran it, but in the NFL, that wasn't a big deal. His teams were 16th, 22nd, and 17th in pass%, so league average.

2022 - inherited one of the worst offenses in the NFL (27th in points, 24th in yards), threw the ball less than any team in the NFL in 2022, rushed 558 times in a 3-win season. 2023 was a moderate change: they threw the ball 513 times, 27th most, and ran 534 times. Team went 10-24 in that stretch. Getsy's teams had the lowest two-year prevalence of pass.

    Getsy's summary in Chicago:
11th percentile passing attempts and yards - that means very low. Higher passing rates than only 11% of the NFL.
97th and 98th percentile rushing attempts and yards.

    Takeaways:
He doesn't like to pass the ball. Not good for Adams.
He loves the run. Good for Jacobs's return?
He seems to love a QB who runs, too. Uhh...not great for AOC, but Getsy also coached Rodgers.
He uses multiple RBs. Good for Zamir White and anyone else.
Kmet (ND TE) had two great seasons under Getsy - good for Mayer.
Has been part of huge regular season success.
Has been part of no winners in the postseason, as far as I can tell.

Caleb Williams does not want to be Chi-Town and forcing way to DC where he is from? Now Kingsbury is considered their new OC whom he played for in Southern California? Coincidence? Hmmm...

I saw someone (on some youtube channel) talk about the possibility of Chi doing a deal with the Raiders, providing they plan on keeping Fields, to basically f*** Kingsbury and his new team.

Can't see it happening but it would be hilarious if we got Caleb.

Ben Johnson spurned Washington too stating that it was run by "basketball people" which caused an uproar among media hacks about him being unprofessional.

Been said that it was trolling. Some media ran with it but last I heard it was Chad and AP trolling.
