Humor, fun, huh. Interesting what these 2 small things add to how good this looks. Seems someone over at WB decided to relent and add a little Marvel style to their movie.
JL already looks infinitely better than BVS. Hopefully they compartmentalized Snyder and learned after their last expensive mistake.
Yep. The movie doesn't look anything like Snyder's movies and that trailer alone had more fun in it than the entirety of his first two DC movies.
What? That scene where Lex introduces Clark and Bruce us comic gold! "You do not want to pick a fight with this person." Damn. I could not stop laughing at that gem.
Confidence restored to the DCCU for me with the Wonder Woman and Justice League trailer. They have such a different feel than MoS and BvS for the better. Can't wait. And hey, Suicide Squad is out next month!
Oh...and don't forget the whole Martha joke where we find out that Batman really didn't want to kill Superman and he was essentially trolling him the entire movie...he's like, "Bro, I'm just messing with you. I love you man. We got moms with the same name. How sweet is that? I had you going there for a second though, right? Like when I branded those criminals essentially sentencing them to death. But ya. Martha, right? Small world."
Jl looks awesome... i never thought BVS was a bad movie, I always thought it was decent, just not on the same level as the avengers. What can we expect from Suicide Squad? I'm actually kinda lost on what Suicide Squad is...
It's a group of villains manipulated by the government into fighting against some even greater evil. There's going to be a Batman cameo and that's really all they've let us know. Has solid potential for fun though.
I have high hopes for Suicide Squad. It has a chance to be DC's GotG equivalent, but we'll see. Wonder Woman looks like it's shaping up to be pretty good. Call me pessimistic but I think JL will be Snyder'd again. Not falling into that trap. Related:
Suicide Squad (the only DC movie I was really interested in) is reviewing terribly. I think I'll save my money this time.
I actually reserved a few seats for an imax showing on saturday. Only spent ten bucks total thanks to a couple of promo codes lol. So if the movie ended up terrible. Not too bad on my wallet
That's a good deal. I think honestly I might wait until it hits tv or something. I'm just so sick of wasting my time and energy on the mess these guys are making. This was one I had some hope for. My hope is gone with it. I'll let ya'll tell me if it's worth 20+ bucks to watch.
As I state often, one of my local theaters has $7 movies all day every Sunday (was $6 until a month ago), so I'll be seeing Suicide Squad at some point. There are few movies I'll pass up for that price, I've even seen 2 in one day before, some I was glad after the fact I gave a chance, like The Neon Demon. With my expectations lowered, even if the movie sucks, hopefully I'll enjoy the Joker at least.
I liked Suicide Squad. Not perfect and if compared to Civil War, it comes up way short. But it's entertaining, Harley Quinn is easy on the eyes, and Will Smiths character was pretty good (I went in with low expectations for his role). Oh yeah, Harley Quinn.... Also, the movie was overshadowed by the soundtrack. Fantastic music. Reminiscent of Guardians of the Galaxy.
I saw it last night too. I feel like I watched a different movie than the critics did. Are there some problems with the film? Sure. The villain ended up being lame (but not really any more so than some of the Marvel villains). I actually liked the movie. Not, "It was better than I thought it would be, but only OK." I actually legitimately liked it. I had HUGE issues with BvS, but still thought the critics take on it was horribly harsh when you look at other movies that get good reviews that were absolute dog crap. This one? I'm starting to wonder if the critics are all getting sick of the shared universe thing and are TRYING to force DC to fail. This movie does not deserve a RT score in the 20's. The pacing is uneven, the villain is completely forgettable and some of the lines will make you roll your eyes a bit...But as John pointed out, the music was great and well used. The characters (especially Deadshot and Harley) were very likable. Leto is a solid Joker. They managed to keep them villains throughout the movie to where the things they did were not out of character. I'd give the film a solid C+ to B-.
