At its worst I've recommended for people to watch it at home. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, just disappointing from three icons and three years of build up.
Yea this one screamed "save your money and watch at home" to me. Luckily I got a bad cold when it premiered making the decision that much easier.
Watched Batman V Superman tonight. Loved it. A few people said Affleck was better than Bale -- no. Not even close. But he was decent. I hated his 300 looking batsuit. Car was cool. Tools from the bat belt were realistic. Superman was cool -- no complaints. Wonder Woman was probably my favorite part. She's gorgeous. Hope she gets her own show. I saw Flash and Aquaman and finally realized the last one was Cyborg. Didn't go into them enough. Lastly, they tried to make Lex too much like the Joker and it was annoying, but otherwise, I loved it. People say it was too long, too slow, too many plots in one movie, but none of that was an issue with me.
It helps going in with low expectations. When I left I felt like it wasn't awful, but the more I thought about it the more the holes bugged me and I realized it's not a good movie... Good news for you though @John3:16 is WW is already filming right now!
Three weeks of reshoots. Not a good sign. I've heard it's to make the movie more fun and to add more action. Neither sounds like a good thing. This was the movie I was actually most interested in from DC so I hope this isn't as bad as it sounds...
No kidding, right? Why don't they just let the guys who do the animated movies run the universe. Like I said earlier in this thread (I think it was this thread) Marvel Studios makes Marvel movies. DC Animation seems like it is much more integrated with the comics and the story tellers over there. WB just seems like they don't have a clue.
The studio side of DC is a mess with too many voices. I'm with you. Let the animators tell the stories. You can even keep that stoff Snyder around for cinematography.
Looks great! I'm still holding out a little hope on this one. This looks like what a darker tone movie should be for comic book movies.
Looks really good. My only question, once again, is how they fit introducing all these characters and the Joker, and batman all into a 2 hour movie with a good plot at a non frantic pace. Why do all of these movies seem to try to pack so much in?
All the Suicide Squad trailers have amazing music. Hoping the soundtrack has these songs. And yeah, count me as being hyped for this movie too.
I think it can be done effectively if you just trust the audience to ride along, you know? I thought that a Justice League movie would work well enough if you just trusted the audience to follow the story. The problem with BvS was that they tried to tell more than one story (probably 3-4 stories) in one movie. Just tell us one story with Squad with characters we may not know, but we'll buy in if it's a well told story. It doesn't surprise me that this looks better when Snyder is not the director. I also wonder how they separate these guys as criminals from Batman and Superman who also murder people. I'm still wondering where the line is besides the fact that we know Bats and Supes are "heroes" so we trust them? I don't know.
