    wear was one of those ucla twins. think tyler hansbrough with less emotion. he's probably as useful a basketball player as auguste, which is...not that useful.

    i really wonder whether it's political. terry's clearly angling for an assistant coaching gig. maybe walton doesn't want to deal with the headache of having himself or one of his guys usurped by a slick-talking vet.

    The article I read said this was the exact case. Terry wanted to come here if the deal included an option to join the coaching staff next year.

    Yep. Great observation @abeer3 on keeping that sort of politics out of the process. Luke has his guys right now that he's handpicked for better or worse. I think he wants to give them a fair shake before opening the door to others.
