X looked like a player until that achilles injury. A shame that happened to him.

Seemed like Kobe started a mini plague of Achilles injuries.

    Bosnian.

    :Chewie:

He just plays for the Croatian National team since he played most of his professional career in Croatia.

Wiki says he was born in Bosnia/Herzegovena, but it lists his nationality as Croatian. Maybe that's exactly what you're saying though. :)

It's when things start feeling natural that shouldn't be. Like, I'm a naturalized poster of Byron Poop gifs. Totally comfortable with it now. Should never have been possible.

I don't think Yi or Auguste really qualify as swing-men. They're both undersized Center/Power Forward types.

Im not saying that...i was asking if there's possibilities of a swing guys out there we could target. I was saying auguste migjt had chance to be one of our big but with yi i guess we don't need another big

Yeah that's true. Yi seems to have closed the door on a big man addition.

Swingmen available might be someone like PJ Hairston or Xavier Henry who we both had in for a workout.

I think so. But I think he's referred to himself as being Bosnian as his nationality.

wonder how x looks. i really liked him, pre-injury. hairston can shoot (a bit), and defend (a bit), but he seems like a possible headcase, which, with his limited talent, means china.

in all honesty, the lakers have a viable squad now. it's probably a 12th place squad, but one could argue they've fielded a team that can compete most nights against most teams.

not that yi was the final piece to a contending puzzle, but the roster had a glaring hole in terms of big men who could score, and that's plugged now. deng and ingram fit the classic "wing" bill, imo. as does young, if, for some d****** reason, he's still here in a month.

Yeah; I'm not sure what X has left, and I'm not terribly interested in finding out. The workout can't hurt, however, and maybe he'll impress.

athleticism was a big part of his game, so i'm not optimistic. in any case, i'm not as wing-obsessed as some. yes, it's great if you have a great one, but there's actually very few of them in the league right now.

a replacement-level wing is super cheap if need be, and i'm not sure the need arises. more and more teams play multiple small-ish guards these days, anyway.

The Withey dunk and CP3 staredown are my two vivid memories of Xavier

Hope he does well, but like many said, I'm not expecting much.

I don't know how practical it is, but I would rather have Artest as a 14th or 15th on this squad. I just love that dude, one of my favorite Lakers. I reckon he'd be a good sparring partner for the young guys too.

Maybe, but I was pretty unimpressed with Jabari in Summer League. I'm not saying I want Xavier on the team or anything, but if he looked good in that FA camp then I might give him a camp invite later this summer.
