I think we've got all our bases covered.

    Goals entering the offseason:
    Starting Center
    Depth at G/Wing
    Defense
    Outside Shooting
    Facilitator

    Shooting at the 5
    Defense at Wing
    Veterans

    Bold = addressed
Bold and Purple = massive upgrade

Aren't we a much better team than last year?

In 2012 in the Olympics, he averaged 14.8 points, 0.8 assists, and 10.2 rebounds while shooting 24/56 (2/3 from three). He blocked 2.2 shots.

In 2016, he went 8-19, 2-4, and 7-8 shooting, scoring 25 points with 6 boards vs. the USA team. He tied for the lead among all scorers.

I'm surprisingly cool with this. Doesn't really matter if it's $8M if it's only 1 year. Could help salaries match in a trade down the road. No real reason to particularly love or hate the acquisition if it's just one year.

I think this deal would put us at the cap. We were at around $86 million with everyone else and Nick not getting stretched. Pincus predicted the future though.

Also, Yi would be the 4th highest paid player on the team behind Deng, Mozgov and Clarkson.

I'm having a hard time believing he was worth 8 million or couldn't be had for less.

I feel like I should be mad about this but I'm not. Sure 8 mil is a lot but its for 1 year. We have a stretch 4 now that has played well during the Olympics. But now theres an even bigger log jam at the 5 and 4 spots though. Signs of a trade incoming?

Like others have said, its actually probably better that we're paying him $8 million rather than $1.5 because now be becomes more useful in matching salaries in a possible trade

I don't really get it as far as on the court play unless there's a trade coming. Needing to reach the salary floor or something, I guess? Not a big fan, he has his chance in the NBA and they said he didn't want to work hard enough to stick, and he's probably not 28, probably 31.

LOL. I would love to see his reaction if a reporter made the same mistake and say, asked him during an interview what it feels like to be the first Czech Laker ever

X good to see him back ballin', I will never forget his #RIPWithey dunk. But we already have a guy that drives left and has a questionable jumper. Hopefully he catches on somewhere, he's probably still better than some of the end of the bench turds out there (even after Achilles tear).
