Awesome scenario: OKC trades Westbrook to the C Bags at the trade deadline for Thomas, Jaylen Brown and Nets draft picks. No commitment from Westbrook to sign long term.
Summer 2017 - Westbrook leaves Boston for LA :Kobejerseypull:

Harrison Barnes about to make $3M less a year than KD. LOL @ Cuban.

when horford eliminated okc due to concerns about retaining kd/rw long term, you knew durant was probably leaving. and you wonder what this says about playing in okc. i mean, they could have had durant/horford/westbrook/oladipo/adams and a legit shot at a title next year, but kd and rw wouldn't affirm their commitment in order to get a "yes" from horford. it seemed strange to me.

    i think they're in trouble.

Was just about to touch on that. I was gonna add they did all that while being able to stay under the cap right? I think that was one of the main points of contention was that not only were we adding a superstar but we we shedding salary to to be able to afford him. Mitch basically said screw your new CBA, I can still make this team better and still not pay a ton of tax. Of course if the league didn't own the team, we don't have an issue.

i'm still on the barnes train. he's making only a bit more than mozgov and deng, if we want to play that game.

batum is making more than durant, i think, as is mike conley. should we lol at their teams? the latter is paying parsons coming off two knee surgeries the same as healthy barnes. the market is what it is. evan turner signed for 18 per--you wouldn't take barnes for 22? we want crabbe at likely 16-18 per, but not barnes? maybe ryan anderson at 20 per is better?

We could offer better than that right? We're better than the Heat right now anyway after Johnson and Deng left and Bosh may never play again.

I'm still trying to make sense of hiring Mike Brown as the lead assistant coach for Steve Kerr

@abeer3 If you remember the FA threads I've been a big proponent of Barnes.

This was just another attempt to laugh at Cuban. Although Conley + Batum > Barnes today. So their contracts are justified IMO.

Mike's a great defensive coordinator. Bad head coach, goofy personality; nonetheless, a great guy and a great role for him.

Yeah, that's bargaining from a position of power. Yikes.

Especially after his buddy in the foxhole just said see ya and did what was best for him. Better believe RW is all over that mindset this summer.

He's a good defensive coach. Maybe he'll be able to get even more out of Durant and Steph. I like it - a lot.
