Yeah I think a more solid (literally and figuratively) Center changes just about everything for them.

I've suggested Aaron Brooks in the backup role. Ramon Sessions is another possibility. I think I have a list here somewhere...

...can he subjugate his ego to come off the pine? Unlikely... Sessions' name was mentioned.

He'd be a very skilled backup, and he'd help us a lot - but would he want to back up a young buck?

I'm still down to go after Harkless but Crabbe is still technically available. The reports of his offer were premature.

Idk. I'd give him a phone call, though. Let's gauge his interest.

Geez I forgot about Deron Williams. I have to think he's going to get paid right? And wouldn't he want to start still? I'd call and gauge interest but that seems like a long shot.

I'd be ecstatic though if they could pull that. I mean he's not exactly a winner but he'd make the team better. I'd have to make sure he knows that it's Russell's team though.

Looking at the PGs I like Ray McCallum the best. He was groomed by the Spurs recently and played well in spurts when he was with the Kings.

1, 10M is a great deal for the Mavs. I can't imagine he'd want to come here, even for 2/20, to be a backup on a 17-win team. We'd probably need $$ and years to get him.

D Williams was my favorite non-Laker player in the league when he was with Utah. His game has really fallen off. He was a lot better last year, but I'm not so sure he's back to being decent. I'd hate to give him a 2 or 3 year contract and watch him disappear.

I know I'm a little late to the little Lou sidebar, but here's my take on him:

He's a nice off-the-bench scorer on a reasonable contract. I'd like to ideally upgrade that position by nabbing a younger better offensive fit & far better defender in Crabbe if possible.

If no obvious upgrade is available, then hanging onto Lou isn't the end of the world even if the ball sticks with him a little more than I'd like to see (esp. in the offense I think Luke is going to install).
