Jeez... I never thought I'd see the day when I'm falling into despair over losing out on Parsons and Evan Turner. That day has come. And Pincus was right saying wait til we see what's coming. 4 years 75 million for TURNER?! Holy s***. He's a 10/5/4 player in a GOOD year. This makes whatever Bazemore is gonna get look justified.

Saw this on FB and had to share.

Johnny Manziel has made better moves this offseason than the Lakers...

    OUCH!

Turner got 75 million? Told you it wouldn't be longer before we saw worse deals than Mozgov.

Worlds beyond Hibbert... What..how..I.. Those numbers you listed WHEN healthy are at or worse than Hibbert put up in Indy when he was an all-star. My god, my head hurts.

If he's as great as you're describing, he'd be in negotiations with every title contending team in the NBA. The guy's best season was 10.6ppg and 7.3 rebs. At age TWENTY- NINE. So I agree, let's not overreact shall we?

Oh yeah, that's much more reasonable, only 17 per instead of 18.

Was Hibbert an All Star last year? No hasn't been since that seven game series against Miami basically. Look beyond the numbers. Look at what Mozgov did for Cleveland. That is worlds beyond what Hibbert is now.

Am I the only one who is happy we're not giving out these contracts to average wing players? Say what you will about the Mozgov deal, but it's not handicapping us at all and it fits a need when our only centers are 19 years old or 6'9. Paying $16-17M for the Evan Turners of the world is what locks you into mediocrity for 5 years.

What? Luke took the first job because it was the Lakers if that's what you mean. There were gonna be plenty of offers.

I suppose I've been laying on the doom and gloom a little thick. I'm really looking forward to next season and seeing our young guys develop. But the negativity is coming from two places:

    1) I talked myself into thinking our front office might have finally gotten religion and put a credible realistic plan in place to woo some quality free agents this summer. Turns out they were just as delusional as before, and thought Durant was a worthwhile use of their time and energy and assumed they'd have an audience with him. Now we have a result that is worse than anyone's lowest expectations. Mosgov may have some positives, and he's not complete garbage, but I don't think a single person was suggesting, prior to today, that Mosgov would be a good get. I think any rational poster here would have said that was just about the bottom of expectations. So, I stupidly got my hopes up and up and here we are.

    2) I just can't fathom why anyone thinks Jim Buss should have his job. As far as I can tell, the only people who think he should are on this website. For whatever reason (maybe this is on me), it gets me worked up to see people actually defending him. There are other people out there that do this for a living and would love to come work for the Lakers and bring us back to glory. People who have worked their way up through successful franchises and would jump at the chance to be our GM. Instead we stick by this immature, petulant loser who got this job handed to him by his rich daddy. One would THINK that whiffing on free agency and signing a deal that made us a laughing stock would convince people here that it's time for a change. But, alas...

I'll shut up now. I love the Lakers and would rather this be a forum of positivity for all. It seems there is too much Jim Buss love here for my views to be seen as anything but grumbling and pouting.

    So the numbers rolling in...

And a journeyman wing like Turner gets $17M?

That right there folks, is your fall back to the Mozgov deal.

Serviceable centers aren't cheap to begin with.
