Ideal was Whiteside or Horford with Batum. But I thought Batum was a long shot. Surprised at the turn of events from Whiteside's camp, but maybe the Ding article was the kiss of death because we seemed to be in the running for him before that happened.

Would still love to at least offer Horford a deal. Who knows? I wasn't thrilled with the Parsons idea, but at this point we need someone. If he's down to take our money I'm all in now.

At the end of the day, we still need a center. Here's two options that we need to look at that is actually feasible.

    Option #1: Al Jefferson
Big Al is only 31 and averaged 12 and 6 last year. A mature locker room presence that is needed with our young core. Our defense would suffer, but it can't get any worse can it?

    Option #2: Meyers Leonard
Leonard is a restricted free agent. Averaged 8 and 6 last season. Only 24, we could offer him a larger role here in LA. I'd stick it to Portland and offer him a contract the Blazers have to match. Make them overpay to keep him, especially since they seem to be almost trolling any FA we go after.

This is the reality of our situation. A young team with a losing record, there's no more draw. We were spoiled the last 20 years with Kobe so of course we're gonna see a bit of downtime.

Golden State didn't need any big name signings to build their team.

Get some guys who want to play and win and build around our core and let them grow. Collect players who will become assets to be traded down the road when the time comes.

Just got to accept our situation and move on, there's no use getting your panties in a bunch over these guys.

Early today, Michal Thompson said our starting center next year might be Cole Aldrich. I laughed then but I'm not laughing now.

I imagine Whiteside felt slighted because we didn't take our chance with him in the past (I think he mentioned it in an interview recently). He can take a hike. I don't like how he carries himself. Glad he' won't be on our team.

Sources say Dwight wants a max. How beautiful would that be if Boston offered Dwight the max? They are a match in heaven. Scumbag player with a scumbag franchise.

    C'MON BOSTON MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I'd love this. Just got the alert Dwight wants max starting at 24 mil per.

I mean if I heard Chandler Parsons was getting the max, I'd expect one too if I were Dwight. I mean let's be real, right?

I suppose, but I wouldn't give Dwight max if I wanted to be a contender or was one already. I'd ask him to take less, be Tyson Chandler, or go get max to play on some bottom feeder and have fun sucking.

I don't know. There's really not much of an option anymore... I'm with you but I just don't know if there's any way he doesn't get close to max at this point. Heck Biyombo could get the max from us! Sure his max is much higher, but you know what I mean. Players are expecting a crazy amount of money.

It's FA related. If you look at it the right way, he's just entertainment.

Well, I guess that's what I'm saying too. He's lucky this is just the market right now, because in a different year at his age and with his decline he doesn't get max from a good team. He can get max from some team for sure, maybe that's a desperate Boston, but IMO he doesn't deserve it. I'd gamble max on Biyombo based on his playoff performance alone over Dwight based on his last 2 stops ending badly and his playoff performance to end those last 2 stops being pathetic (Lakers) and average compared to what he used to be (Houston).
