Is Portland gonna offer Parsons the max? With his injury history I would think he'd go with whoever offers him max money.

I would take him. He sucks defensively, but he at least gives us low post offense, rebounding, and he is a great veteran to have. He could play the same role Boozer did a couple of years ago except he's a better version of that.

I think that's where we might end up....on a guy like Jefferson. Not a bad thing....will be a good influence on the young kids.

I think Parsons goes to Portland....ugh.

I'm not sure. I know we will. By the way, what happened to Luol Deng? I remember some of us (including me) wanting him. He's still available.

Yes my updated priority list would include Parsons, Batum, Deng, Dudley, Al Jefferson, Afflalo, Vasquez, and Bazemore.

I believe this is the route we have to take on the road to respectability again. We'll get there as our competitors age and they have to deal with maxing their stars financially...while ours develop. We have some building blocks and assembling a well regarded staff but need to build around them with solid support.

My only reservations are these disturbing reports of discord in our front office. I have to say that it is not a good look. I thought we have ironed those perceived issues already.

The problem is our average age is 22 and the media has trashed or disregarded our young guns.

    D'Angelo: snitch and a bust
Clarkson and Randle get absolutely no love from the national media.

Outside of us die hard fans, NOBODY has watched the Lakers play for the last 2 years.

So SB Nation shows that Derozen will physically meet with the Lakers in L.A. That has to be good, no?

Are they willing to give him $22 million? Only 32 million in space? I don't think Olshey will. We will, though.

I know I'm in the minority here, and I want the top players like every other fan, but I'm not that bummed if we get no one of note.

I feel like we need to show something before I expect anyone to want to sign in LA. Name alone doesn't mean much anymore.

There's been conflicting reports, but I think he's meeting with the Raptors first before he does anything else.

    Who aren't you maxing?

Parsons - At this point I'd pay 22 million to have Parsons recruit over whatever we have going on now, mainly delusions of grandeur. Seriously if it got us other top players, he's worth that alone and for whatever reason Parsons has pull in the league.

Barnes - Overpay yes, but fits perfectly with the young guys. Struggled in the Finals, but everyone forgets his good games for some reason. And it forces the Warriors to overpay. Win/win.

These are our best two options right now and we will be in the same spot next season if we don't win games. Parsons/Barnes helps us do that. That alone is worth the contract.

Me too. Let's not be surprised if Toronto balks at the 5th year? Remember, too, they have to pay Lowry next year as well; it's not looking good for them.

Super like. I think we all got carried away in the hoopla with firing Boron + Luke + Ingram that we all got a little myopic.

This... I feel that if and when the young core serves notice then we'll garner some interest. What's the saying? Build it and they will come?

I'm not a fan of maxing either, but I guess we have to get someone. I'd probably prefer Barnes at this point. He improves our perimeter defense, spacing, and experience level. What's the latest on Batum?

The only way we meet with him is if Toronto lowballs him which won't happen. If they lowball him then all bets are off and we've got a shot, but that's maybe a 2% chance at this point.
