Sometimes, it's just better to move on. I like Pau, but I am byt interested now. We had a great run with him. I am glad he moved on to Chicago.
Pau is like a boat. Your 2 best days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. He should've wore a mask when he went to the ATM his last 2 years in LA. Want no part of him back in LA..... unless the new kids need to do a layup line.
I can't believe some of you would even think about bringing Pau back . The Buss children virus has done his damages I see ...
Here's the thought process. Signing Pau gives us a player who can legit give us about 2200 minutes on the season, can average 15/9. It would also give us enough cap space to add A LOT still. Russell/ Clarkson/Williams Batum(or DeRozan)/Young/Brown Randle/Nance Gasol/ We could either try to sign Whiteside for an offense/defense rotation at Center (and Pau at some PF), or we could invest the money on a quality backup PG and C. In the following season, Williams and Young would be expiring. There are very good reasons to add quality vets (which Pau is) for the 7-9M a season range.
Exactly. I love Pau and the last two seasons of watching talentless hacks and teenagers has made me appreciate Pau all the more. I'd welcome him back for the right price.
Yeah how dare we wanna bring back an All Star caliber big man. Those kinds of players are clearly everywhere.
Hassan Whiteside with a 20/20 game in 25 minutes of action. There's no question about the guy's talent. It's all about his mentality. When he puts his mind to it he's a dominant center.
Well again a lot can change between now and then. Fire Byron, get the pick and if you can acquire another superstar Durant will at least take a look at us. I see no reason for him to stay in OKC. He isn't winning there.
back and forth, back and forth. We're going to continue to hear a lot of opinion and articles before its all said and done. It's just the time of year when an article saying we're aren't front runners is bound to come out. I don't get down nor do I get overly excited when possible news does come up about our changes. There will be plenty of time to get anxious closer to signing day
I think it's safe to assume we're not a front runner. I also think this rumor came from Durant and his camp, is 100% true, and is a way to push the Lakers. If they're serious about signing him, they'd better be prepared to make some wholesale changes and improve asap. The fact that they made no moves to improve at the deadline is not a good look which is probably what sparked this conversation.
With Wade and Bosh out of the lineup, the Heat have been playing at a faster tempo the last couple of games. As a result, Deng's game has opened up, and Whiteside looked great against the Wizards. Their both FA's this offseason, and I'd probably look to grab both. Deng is also playing the 4 in small-ball situations.
