Derozan and Whiteside would put us in a much better position than we are now. Even if they aren't exactly the right pieces, they could be, but no matter what they're very good assets

There is a lot of good points about bringing in Conley. A vet PG brings a stability this team needs and DAR can play some 2 minutes anyways and get his 30 mpg. Clarkson may want too much and get a crazy offer sheet. I'm not opposed to Conley at all except the money he'll want being the only really good PG in the FA market scares me a bit. Especially when the 2017 FA class includes CP3, Rose, Westbrook, Teague, Lowry and Steph Curry.

    As Daryl Morey said:
"No, it's not a great free-agent year. It's a lot of money chasing obviously quality players, but there's way more money chasing way too few players.'

I do not see Conley as a max guy. Whiteside is a chance at max as it is, we will only be able to do one more max guy after that in the next few years and that had better the one that puts us over or near the top.

My hope is that Conley will usher in Russell's greatness. Learn from a great vet who leads. I believe the point guard position is the hardest to learn, why not take off the pressure from DA so he can relax and reach his potential.

I don't think there is too much for Clarkson. Isn't his max like 12 million or something like that because he's only a two year player and restricted? Jordan is apart of this core. He needs to be retained at all costs. Period. He's still got the potential to be better and he's already very good. Gives us another player/shooter and scorer, and he's one of the top athletes at his position in the NBA.

I really fear taking a punt again for future FAs will keep us mediocre. We need to spend that cap space.

Whiteside, Deng, and Conley please. That makes us playoff contenders.

But I'd rather roll with a Center rotation of Zubac and Black than bring back Dwight.

    Clarkson's Max is like 5.6, 5.9, 21, 23. It's four years, $56m.

We need to sign whatever talent we can get.

Even if they are at positions we aren't desperate to replace, we can still trade them next year.

BIGGEST GOAL of this team: Accumulate talent, give Mitch trade chips to work his magic. Without assets no FA is going to come here. We must make sure we add "free" talent though FA rather than tank and get high picks. Once you have enough talent, you worry about fits.

I'd rather strike out on everyone than bring Howard back.

Feel like Whiteside really gained some steam, sort of seems likely to some people. I'm hesitant to get too happy, trying to prevent a let down this year.

I really don't understand why Conley would ever come here. There have got to be more contender-ready suitors out there, and he's getting up there in years.

Heard the Spurs would be after him. Short of LA>SA, what advantage would we have over them for Conley?
