    ok, back up to speed...

good list, rodg. i had somehow missed that g. henderson was a FA. if you like derozan, but don't like that he takes a lot of touches, henderson is a good compromise. i like his ability to play 2/3. his shooting isn't fantastic, but he strikes me as a great vet role model for the young guards. portland's going to have to lose someone. gimme.

He doesn't give a number on Noah/Deng specifically but good to know where we're starting. I've been on record as saying I'm cool giving those guys somewhere near 20 million in short term deals. I'm cool giving either of them 60 million over some length of contract be it 3 or 4 years whatever works for them.

Lee at 14 million is nice. I'm all in for that.

And as for Windhorst's bit it seems pretty open and shut for us getting Whiteside's ear at least. Let's walk in, throw the max contract on the table, show him some other endorsement opportunities, give him his own tv reality show, buy him some cake, bring Guy Fieri in there with us if we have to. It seems like he wants the cash and he'll take one of the first offers he gets.

Also good to hear that we're not wasting our time on Durant. I hope that's 100% true. Let's go get obtainable pieces.

Yep. Agree. Whiteside would be our best free agent acqusition in awhile. Once we sign him, we can build oit the rest of our roster from there...

Haha Fieri could probably give a better pitch than they did last year. But seriously I also get the feeling Whiteside is looking to get paid and have a starting role. He'll get that in L.A. Just hope the front office focuses the majority of their pitch on that.

    side note:

how painful is it that the lakers turned away:

-whiteside (really, you'll bring upshaw in, but not whiteside?)
-bazemore (you had him; you should have known he was going to be a starting caliber player)
-isaiah thomas (he totally wanted to come to la for his 6 million per salary, now he's the best player on our bitter rival, who has a meeting with durant while we don't)

    ouch ouch ouch.

Ah... I worried that we might just get Whiteside after all. He is my Cousins from last year.

I hope not. He is a headcase and stat staffer.

if it's david, then FA's going to be CRAZY.

i think 14 is a lot for courtney. this guy's never fetched more than MLE-ish, and his teams have always been ok to move on without him. sort of a rich man's corey brewer in this regard.

I could see David Lee at 14 if people are going to give Noah 20 :)

That tweet was referring to Courtney Lee. It was in response to this tweet.

I don't see David Lee getting $14 million at this point in his career.

There is an alleged leaked DM of Whiteside that recently hit the internet. He was hitting on a girl, said he'd be in LA area soon. Probably fake, but some of these leaked screenshots have been real before.

She's an Asian girl with the Twitter handle "genocideblacks" who describes herself as an avid Black Lives Matter supporter and Trump fan.

She previously has tweeted about "our core" in a tweet with the pic of Ingram, Russell, etc at dinner. And also tweeted comparing Buddy Hield to Jimmer Fredette.

Yet in the supposed DM with Whiteside, she claimed she didn't know who he was. Kinda hard to believe from someone who seems like a basketball fan.

Her last tweet said she'd follow back anyone who PayPal'd her $5.

I think she's just looking for attention.

Probably overkill with the detective work on my part lol, but I really want Whiteside so I looked into it in the hopes it was real.

Edit: The account is now closed and seemed to be a dude trolling who used pics of a girl he found on Google.

If Whiteside really did get catfished by a racist troll and revealed his free agency plans in the process, I don't want him anymore :D

Ah, didn't look into it much. Just noticed it was all over Twitter. Truthfully, I wouldn't know what to look for in a DM, or who in the hell these online models or psychopaths are.

If Dwight wants to sign here, he can take the veterans' minimum and be our backup C. Period.

^ Not even for the vet min. The pride and honor of this organization is too great and legendary to be tarnished even a little bit by someone that spurned us and one of our greats as he did to both Kobe and the organization. No, I want him to forever be booed unmercifully when he shows up at Staples. As a visiting player or in the audience. There's a special place in Laker lore for someone like Dwight, along with players like Doug Christie.

Dwight Howard is a malignant cancer to a basketball team. If he is smart, which that has been in question for years now, he would try to get to New York. He will have a better shot at competing in the East and if he can finally grow a brain, shut up and play defense and let everyone else do what they do.
