Who cares, let's not waste too much time on Durant. Let's go hard for our main realistic targets whoever they are.

Durant isn't happening. That doesn't mean we need to spend on a guy that had rode the pine VERY often lately. I'd rather get Barnes. At least he suits up and knows the system.

My first call is probably Horford. Might make him feel appreciated that we want after him before anyone else, he's an All-Star, fits almost all our criteria and needs. I have a feeling he's high on the Lakers' list. If that's the case, let's go all in. Screw Durant this summer. We'll have a meeting with him just to touch base and then we'll go get guys we need this summer. I dig it. Way to keep me grounded.

Screw the C Bags though. Screw 'em hard. I hope Durant laughs at them in the meeting and calls Ainge soft.

I guess people here want to pay 20 million for a guy who sit on the bench but can recruit his "friends"

Whoa. Who said 20 million? I don't want Parsons for near that much money.

Fine but I don't know how he helps this team at all. He's fragile as glass.

Part of me wouldn't mind not spending a single dollar on free agency and just rolling with a rotation of Russell, Clarkson, Williams, Ingram, Randle, Nance, Zubac, Brown, and Black.

I'm not entirely serious. That team would lose a lot of games and I'd hope we could use our cap space more productively. But damn, it would be fun to see us throw the young kids to the wolves and let them develop.

The problem is we still need to hit the cap floor of 80 million or so. We have to add at least close to 50 million dollars in salary this summer.

If we strike out on big FAs I'm sure Mitch has a plan for a good dump. Marc Gasol and Brook Lopez are both candidates there.

Hopefully we can send Young in return for the dump. Don't want him also spoiling our new gym rat.

Just send Young for a 2nd round pick would be great to me.

Or you know, just stretch him. His value is super low right now, not sure if any team would want him.

Yeah that's the most logical thing to do just to keep him from influencing the kids.

lol at durant in boston. if that happens, he's not very bright, imo. they have no all stars nor a real means to get them. word was they offered chi whatever they wanted off the roster in exchange for butler, and they declined. think about that. why would a guy who came a few minutes from the finals last year leave his team for that, east or no?

i'm not offended by the spurs or warriors being ahead, and i actually understand the clippers, as they'll have at least two all nba players on the roster in addition to durant. but if the lakers are out because they're not close to contention (fair), then boston should be, too.

agree with others that i'm ok with it in general. i never expected him here, and time not wasted pitching him is time better spent on more realistic targets.

If we land any one of Horford, Whiteside or Noah, I'll call this a successful offseason. We already landed a future superstar in Ingram.

As for small forward prospects, OKC getting Oladipo in the backcourt with Westbrook, KD isn't going anywhere anyway.

I think we either go after Barnes or roll with Nick Young for another season. Don't see Mitch going after Parsons with his injury history.

Guys Nick Young isn't worth a 2nd round pick. He's worth nothing. He's quite literally worthless from Mitch's perspective. We've been trying to get rid of him ever since he signed his extension.

He'll need to be either waived or stretched. If I had to guess I'd say stretched so we save money every year, but we'll be paying for him for a good 5 years after he's gone if we do it that way. If we just waive him and eat the cash we pay him only over the next 2-3 years or whenever his contract is up. Maybe we could even pay him a lump sum just to go away.

I would be shocked if he's on the team next year though.

2.2m per season, five years to stretch Nick. Not a big hit.
