Well I'd like to like SOME players... :D

But yeah. Give me a title and I'll welcome just about anybody I have to. I don't have to like them, but I want to win so I don't care.

I'd root for a team of LeBron/Pierce/Rondo/Love/Harden if it meant a ring!

That team is a nightmare for me. But, it's about the front of the jersey.

Great to see your name here my man.

To get back on track, apparently Afflalo is opting out. Any thoughts on what he commands? Good 3+D guy.

Not really. Nothing against the person or the player. He's a spectacular athlete and showed him will to win this year.

But all his media "hoop-la" that he brings I don't want

I'm really pulling for KD to jump to GS.
    1) It keeps Bron out of P&G. Sorry, I know it could possibly lead to a great team and we could buy rings that way, but I will never support any team with him on it. We get him and I'm only following box scores until he leaves for another/better gig.
    2) It puts GS over Cleveland in the Finals. Losing Bogut and Iggy would be tough, but they can get another defensive big for cheap this summer and as long as Green doesn't get suspended again then they can squeak by with he and Durant. There's no way in hell they don't get a basket in the final 4 minutes with Durant on the team. Swap out Barnes with Durant and well...you can figure out the rest.
    3) It helps our chances for Westbrook next year or at the All Star break if they want something back instead of letting him walk for free (he can't join KD in GS, there's no room in the backcourt).
    4) We would have a great chance to steal a decent player away from GS this summer because they will be desperate to clear the needed space.

Bogut is never healthy. For this team, if we're going after an injury risk in the front court, give me Noah. He brings more intangibles to the table.

Give me Iggy all day. I've wanted him in a Lakers jersey since Philly, dreaming of him being Kobe's Pippen. That never panned out, even though we've had interest in him a few times over the years. Given our new coach, I think we definitely revisit the possibility. Great leader, locker room guy, example for Ingram, defensive coordinator on the floor, can still contribute...SIGN ME THE f*** UP!

Curry- Thompson - Durant - Green... with all 4 supposed to be upgraded from this year.
Thats 4 scary snipers. How can you stop them?

Im up for it, give me some Iggy. Even though this GS team can lock the next 3 championships.
But the Lakers are in rebuilding mode - so 2020 here we come!

    SMALL FORWARD FAs: Some Thoughts

    Luol Deng +5 Rating
    Three Year Trends
    Scoring: 5.74, 5.60, 5.39
    Passing: 2.70, 2.28, 2.31
    Hustle: 2.55, 2.59, 2.74
    Efficiency: 64, 58, 56

Luol Deng is, in my view, the best wing who is realistically up for grabs. He shoots, defends, and he consumes a bunch of minutes. He even has good playoff experience. He’s entering his age 31 season, however, and he’s likely to begin the decline soon. He lacks the versatility to play the SG spot for extended periods of time, too, so his playing time would cut into Ingram’s development time. These last two aspects give me pause; I think he’s worth max for next season, but I don’t think he’s worth max for much longer than that.

    Chandler Parsons +4
    Three Year Trends
    Scoring: 5.70, 5.86, 5.84
    Passing: 3.04, 2.57, 2.86
    Hustle: 2.38, 2.43, 2.14
    Efficiency: 66, 64, 65

Injuries aside, Parsons is elite as a do-it-all wing. As one looks at players with similar injuries, it becomes likely that he is likely to struggle a bit next season. His shooting can really space the floor, and I have confidence he can do that even if he is working through a recovery. So, while he will have a bit of a down year next season, he is probably a better bet for a max contract than Deng. After one so-so year, Parsons will be 29, still in his prime, and well worth a max contract. Still, his playing time means less Brandon Ingram.

    Harrison Barnes +0
    Scoring: 5.06, 5.27, 5.38
    Passing: 2.20, 2.15, 2.30
    Hustle: 2.41, 2.69, 2.33
    Efficiency: 49, 52, 54

To be blunt, Barnes is a near-elite shooter in a system that gives open looks. He is entering only his age 24 season. He has youth, playoff experience, some position flexibility, familiarity with Walton’s system, and good shooting skills. So he looks like a max player. But he doesn’t rebound and he doesn’t do much else – like assists, steals, and blocks. He has been a much better regular season player than a postseason player, and Warrior fans have turned on him a bit. Given that LA doesn’t really need a SF/PF player if they take Ingram and have Randle, he would still be third on my list.

We're in such a great position. We'll get a max guy this year or next. I'm just that sure of it. The tide is changing, folks.

A couple random quotes from Luke from the radio today:

"You can never have too much shooting, and I love versatile, long defenders."

On roster improvements: "You need to add another all star caliber" player.

It's going to help tremendously in the FA meetings having Luke at the table instead of Byron. So well spoken and amiable and sharp. They're going to think hard about turning down a chance to be a major part of the resurgence (sooner than everyone expects) of this great franchise.

To add to it, Walton believes analytics while Scott doesn't care for it much. Point is that the former will use it as part of the presentation pitch to a free agent instead of the same outdated and hokey legacy selling point.

Also, I think somebody asked him about what he would say to prospective FA's: I love his response, 'the future is bright.' That's where the focus needs to be this summer. Immediate and short-term future.
