I said it earlier: he's worth 60 million and it doesn't matter how many years it takes to get there.

    3/60 or 4/60 would both work. 2+1/40(60)

i think there are worse things. it would mean the lakers got a starter at a position of need in FA, though--so, yay!

I'd welcome either Gasol. Good mentors and locker room vets. Pau is coming off a couple of terrific seasons and Marc actually plays D. I don't think either is likely and we'd need another big too - defender if we got Paul or injury insurance if we got Marc.

I like Parsons a lot for this team after the likes of Deng, if (big if) he checks out medically.

I really don't know what his asking price will be. I just tossed a figure out there. 40% of BB? Who knows what he'll command when he's basically been out of the league for the year.

Am I missing something? He played in 76 games this year during the regular season, 11 in the postseason (including last night), and was on a $5M/year contract. He won't earn less than $5M. I don't know that he'll earn 40% of BB, but he's not as good, so he shouldn't earn as much.

it's just a question of how best to allocate funds. if all you get is a center, maybe you pay twice as much for biyombo. but if paying half as much for a mozgov allows for some other things, i don't see the dropoff as a deal breaker. i guess what i mean is that i'm not sure biyombo will prove worth a huge investment.

I'd like a center rotation of Noah, Mahimi and Black.

I think Courtney Lee is in for a bigger payday than we expect. He's definitely going to get more than Brandon Rush. Whether it's his fault or not, he's barely more than a bench warmer in GS. I would be surprised if Rush got MLE money.

Another name thrown around was Ryan Anderson which I think is kind of interesting. He's going to be insanely expensive though and I'm not sure how many PFs one roster can absorb.

We have a lot of PF's. I like Ryan Anderson, though, if he's healthy.

The ability to stretch the floor makes him a valuable piece for us since we have no proven shooters on the roster. The problem is guys like Pincus think Anderson could get the max this summer. I don't think I'm willing to give him the max unless he's suddenly able to play full time Center for us.

Max for Ryan Anderson? I'd pass. Let's find a cheaper option. If I'm taking a chance on Parsons, who is already an injury risk, I'm not taking one with Anderson. One or the other, IMO.

I meant that he hasn't been a big part of their plan (compared to last year). Mosgov was a big get for them last season, but he was out of favor with the Cavs quickly in comparison to his previous role.

Essentially, if he's half the cost of Biyombo, which I think he will be and some, I'd rather go that route to get size so we can save money. Mainly because I don't see big men being worth big max money in the current NBA, which is what I fear people will pay for BB.

Not technically Laker news, but it's somewhat notable that our name hasn't been officially crossed off the list yet. Washington and Houston are both out, but the Lakers (and similarly Boston) probably have a tiny window to make an argument.

You're playing with my emotions real.

I already resigned myself to us not getting Durant this year.

That's a good way to think about it. :D

I'm just saying I haven't read a "Lakers aren't on the list" thing.

I hope if it fits with what Luke wants to have available this year Brandon comes back. Solid, solid vet. Thick. :Magic Brows: Is that a recent interview?

I would have liked to have seen a question about if he wanted to come back.

    It was this morning

He looked at his agent after they mentioned him staying like he was told not to say anything
