Off topic, but I just love how Rick Fox use to be a C bag, but he hates their guts, and he became a full Laker to the bone.

He represents and promotes Lakers every chance he gets

We sure could. :). I all up for re-signing Bass. I think he fit in particularly well with Luke's defensive and offensive concepts. Last year, Bass said he was 'pressing' at the beginning part of the season and that led to his lackluster play at the beginning of last season. Add Byron's atrocious offensive concepts and there you go; if you can add a Biyombo in free agency, you're good. Bass can also play some 5 if you need him, too.

Edit. I also like the fit of a Bass/Biyombo pairing. Bass can hit that mid-range consistently and provide some spacing. Both are decent screeners (Biyombo being excellent), both are relatively long, mobile, can switch, etc.

^^. 100% down for re-signing Bass. He's a solid veteran, with a great work ethic & a great influence on the young guns.

I don't know what it is, but I'm not really enthusiastic about Bass.

I could take him or leave him at this point

What I love about Bass is he's still a solid NBA player and provides veteran experience. Guys like Hibbert or World Peace are great veterans to have, but they can't play anymore. That's the problem. We need veterans who can play and also be leaders. Bass is that kind of player. I say it's a no brainer to bring him back.

The only problem I see is that he knows he won't get much playing time here, especially if we sign David Lee.

Thought I'd pass on this info here...we know that Luke Walton has spoken to Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell, and Julius Randle about their roles next season, but I've heard that he has also spoken to Tarik Black, who is a restricted free agent. Good sign that the Lakers intend to keep Black next year.

I believe he and Tarik are fairly close from Tarik's college days? He spoke glowingly about Luke's influence.

I'm guessing Tarik went home this summer, but I wonder what he's been up to. We've seen the rest of the kids working. Knowing what we all know about Tarik, he's working too but I'm just curious what he's working on. I know Byron wanted him to be a PF and hated him at C for some reason. I think Tarik can be a pretty good energy C off the bench for us.

Yeah, Walton was an assistant in Memphis when was there. Heard he is ramping up workouts in the next couple of weeks to get ready for the season, and may workout with Clarkson.

Don't know what, in particular, he will work on though.

    Awesome. Thanks for the info!

The two of them need to work on their defensive timing somehow. Pick and rolls. Great news though. There's something to be said for a bunch of kids who want to be great.
